Bittersweet finish with roasted malts, vanilla, coffee, bourbon, cacao, chocolate, dark fruits and nuts. Excellent imperial stout.

UPDATED: JAN 5, 2022 650ml bottle. Sweet, smooth and slick with loads of coconutty chocolate sauce, some vanilla, cocoa, syrup, almonds and bourbony notes. Quite intense pastry stout.

UPDATED: SEP 4, 2021 Bottle. Colour…onyx with a thin tan head. Nose…booze, vanilla cream, brownies and treacle. Palate…smooth, thick, coating with almonds up front that fade to marshmallow cream, creme de cacao, fudge and notes of coffee. The back palate is slightly nutty but blooms with heady booze, bittersweet chocolate and burnt coconut macaroons.

UPDATED: AUG 29, 2021 Bottle sample at a tasting. Opaque black with no head, oily. The aroma has notes of nuts, dark chocolate, alcohol, coffee, a bit oxidized, cocoa, coconut. The flavor is sweet and mild bitter with notes of alcohol, coffee, dark chocolate, nuts, oily, coconut. Full-bodied.

UPDATED: JUN 26, 2021 Bottle at a tasting. Pours opaque black with a beige head. Aroma of chocolate, soy sauce, cocoa, vanilla. Sweet, cocoa, vanilla, chocolate, prunes, coffee, coconut, loacker, rich, warming. Full-bodied, oily. Great stuff.

UPDATED: JUN 1, 2021 Candy bar in a 1.5L bottle. Coffee and coconut stand out a little in this thick black treat, but the adjuncts and beer are very well balanced. Low 4.5.

UPDATED: MAY 31, 2021 Shared bottle. Pours black with a nice tan head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, nuts, and malt. Taste is chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, almonds, coffee, and roasted malt. Nice!

UPDATED: MAY 28, 2021 Poured from a 22 oz bottle. Aroma is loaded with toasted coconut, almonds and chocolate. Lighter coffee and vanilla notes. Light roast notes and hints of toasted grains. Light alcohol notes. This smells like cake batter. Pours jet black with a small, thin, creamy, dark mocha head that lingers in the center of the glass. Flavor is very sweet with lots of chocolate malt notes and lighter roast and dark caramel. Medium bitterness and light alcohol notes. Loads of chocolate notes, toasted coconut and vanilla. Lighter coffee and almond notes. Mouthfeel is full bodied with low carbonation. Low astringency and medium alcohol warmth. Overall, this is a delicious pastry stout that tastes and smells like brownie or cake batter. Very well balanced adjuncts and super thick, but not over-the-top.
