UPDATED: AUG 30, 2019 Aroma is sweet and citrus, ripe citrus, definitely yuzu. red ale malts, very malty. Appearance is clear amber-red, moderate head. Taste is big malts, not too sweet, not cloying but it does build a bit. toasty malts, a citrus rind bitterness. some citrus notes on the finish. Mouthfeel is moderate, does have some nice carbonation. This isn't bad, a big though standard red ale with some interesting notes.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2018 330ml bottle - Pours a hazy brown-red colour with a small beige head. A fruity, citrusy grapefruit aroma together with some sweeter citrus notes. Taste is sweet, a sticky mouthfeel, caramel malts and a sharp citrus bitterness. Seems to improve with a bit of air and time to settle.

ALLOVATE (3645) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - NOV 20, 2018
Into a tulip, just on chilled. Ruddy chestnut body and hazy. Nose has no yuzu but is heavily fuelled with bitter grapefruit, stewed and caramelised orange and rhubarb, camphor, menthol and a strong, penetrating whiff of bruised Vietnamese mint. On thee palate it is sharp, bitter and almost acridly so. Yuzu, under its many other names, is a sour but very fruity hit of citrus, this harboured little but it was evident. Came across as just a tang of lemon juice amongst nutty, tannic malts and woody notes. Dry finish and palate wrecking linger of parching dryness. Nutty, woody malts last similarly long. Not bad given it is an aged sample. Quite sessionable at its ABV. Weird but good! (33cL, BB 04/10/18, The Liquor Shed, Jandakot)

jmgreenuk (16022) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - AUG 7, 2018
Draft at Smith Street Taps, Singapore. Poured a murky reddish brown colour with a thin off white head. The aroma is grainy malt, light toffee, light red berry fruit, dry hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a fresh dry malt, light fruit, light pepper spice, light dry resin hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation. Ok, but looked and tasted a little home brew’ish.
