Bourbon under. Massive malts. Warming. A lot going on and it all works. Chocolate and earth. Really good stuff.

johnnnniee (6326) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - DEC 14, 2015Bottle from RobertDale, thanks for the opportunity!
slightly hazy dark brown with reddish highlights at the edges and a frothy tan head that persists. Brown sugary caramel maltiness with hints of chocolate and a touch of ethanol as well as a slight ashy chalky mouthfeel. Decent strong ale.
thegreenrooster (6180) - St.louis, Missouri, USA - NOV 27, 2015Pour is a clear brown witha large tan head. Aroma is a nice but faint cocoa but there is also a big alcohol presence. Flavor is a chewy chocolate malt similar to other brown ales but again there is a noticable alcohol. Finish has a bit of sweet malt but again you can’t escape the alcohol. I don’t know what they were going for here. It’s like an average brown ale with a lot of alcohol.
CopterScott (254) - Kansas, USA - OCT 5, 2015brown with a thin tan head. aroma is malt, spice and cocoa. Flavor is caramel, toffee, cocoa, leather, and spice.
jeremyh70 (1116) - Missouri, USA - MAY 8, 2015Pours translucent brownish/red with small tan head. Smell is like a Belgian, sweet with a little spice. Taste is like a mix between a Belgian and an imperial stout. Some coffee taste with clove and fruit. Also reminds you of a brown ale. Palate is a little thin. Good.
AdamChandler (5974) - Enfield, New Hampshire, USA - SEP 15, 2014Extra in a recent trade. 12oz bottle, enjoyed at fridge temp in a Teku. 4 finger fluffy big bubble / creamy head. faded very slow. Pour was a light brown. In the glass, a darker brown. A lot of malt presence on the nose with caramel, candy toffee and pumpkin. Certainly a lot of flavor in this one. Dense old fruit, dark fruit simmered with sugar and a touch of tar. Sweet date / fig finish. A bit too much cigar flavors in here. Not a bad brew.
