tfontana (3801) - Fremont, New Hampshire, USA - AUG 20, 2020
UPDATED: AUG 20, 2020 Can (Batch #2183) pour from Harvest Wine & Spirits, West Hartford. Appearance is clear golden orange-light amber with light lazy sparkle, finger-width rocky foam off-white head with excellent retention and nice soapy lacing. Aroma is strong dank resin, very mild citrus and faint malt backbone with an astringency that almost burns the nostrils. Taste is similar to aroma with a danky resin flavor over late caramel malts but pure bitterness carries the day. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, soft carbonation, intense alcohol warmth in the stomach and dry, crisp bitter finish. Overall, when you advertise 120 IBU's on the can, you're not exactly shy about your bitterness. A bit of a fish out of water here in New England and this seems old school, but perhaps this is still modern day out west. Or, just a classic. Well crafted and good for what it is but not what I want to drink.

gripweed57 (5605) - Hamilton Square, New Jersey, USA - MAR 28, 2020
UPDATED: MAR 28, 2020 16 ounce can. Amber orange pour. Finger-high creamy beige head. Nice clinging lace. Toasted malt nose has toffeish notes. First sip is more of toasted malt and resiny pine hops. Hops dominate from here on. Black pepper, grapefruit pity and more dank pine. Quite intense bitter hop finish.

Bomber from Liberty on The Drive (if I remember correctly!). A cloudy hazy orange amber beer with a generous cream colored head and a citrus fruity nose. This is quite a revelation on the palate! The fruit, bitter and malt notes are in almost perfect balance. Wow! If I could drink only one IPA for the rest of my life it just might possibly be this one. Well done, Moylans Brewing! 4.4
