Clownoisseur (531) - Buchanan, Michigan, USA - OCT 6, 2020
UPDATED: OCT 6, 2020 2019 Vintage via trade - thanks Jacob! Pours a dark brown, near black. Medium beige head, plenty of lace, a bit oily on the glass. Aroma of roasted grain, licorice, honey, toasted nut. Taste is bitter chocolate, toffee, honey, deep roasted malt, and a lingering anise/honey balance. Really well made, clean finish, and a very soft and easy drinking stout. Glad to have finally tried this! As of 10/6/20 (my birthday!) I have tasted 50/50 of the Top Rated beers on this site! (Yawn). *Pats self on back, and goes back to drinking a beer*

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2020 Bottle (2007) via trade shared with BC back in the day, from notes (I really thought that I had rated this). Pours dark brown to black in color with a medium sized dark tan head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, dark chocolate, espresso, ash, molasses, earthy bitterness, great mouthfeel, a delightful old school imperial stout that I hope to revisit someday.

UPDATED: JAN 20, 2020 27/IX/19 - on tap @ Borefts Day 1, BB: n/a - (2019-1496) Thanks to the international RateBeer Crew for sharing today's beers! Clear dark brown beer, small creamy beige head, stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet, malty, some honey, very roasted, lovely. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: slightly sweet, lots of roasted malts, honey, caramel, lots of dark chocolate, very good. Aftertaste: soft bitterness, roasted, some alcohol, little oxidized, lovely beer! This does not disappoint!
