SHIG (10003) - Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, ENGLAND - APR 26, 2020UPDATED: APR 26, 2020 Bottle way past it's prime: Poured a coppery brown with a off white head. Aroma is super caramel malts. Taste is nice light hops forward with a big caramel sweet finish.
RSRIZZO (2264) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - AUG 5, 201712oz bottle (courtesy of Headbanger) poured into an English Pint at 42°. Color is a bright gold with just a slight haze and good carbonation giving it a rocky white head. Aroma is a bright citrus hop scent. It has a lighter medium body with a crisp yet smooth mouth feel. Flavor comes on a light malt base with good citrus hops and a touch of hop spice then a mellow bitterness. Aftertaste is clean with an almost sour note and the hop citrus turning to a lemon note. Overall it’s a good brew, maybe a little too smooth in the end for my taste.
Bricks (1316) - Delaware, USA - APR 26, 2017Average medium brown color, copious head. Smell of citrus and hops, with a hint of funkiness I can’t quite explain. Taste is good, citrus and pine, hops... it’s light, so easily drinkable. Missing a bit of complexity that the IPAs have, but good beer.
andrewje41 (6568) - Monroe, Washington, USA - MAR 7, 201712 oz bottle poured, courtesy of luttonm. Thanks! Still have this bottle, it’s probably a little after the BB date, but it’s still going strong for sure. Slightly hazy, golden orange pour with a ton of foam head. Biscuit malt and grassy hop aroma. Flavor is a very refreshing, balanced, caramel malt and hop constant, with a cool finish. I don’t know if I would have thought of this as a lager in a blind setting. Very nicely put together for sure. I really enjoyed this.
BeerRenter76 (1097) - Texas, USA - FEB 10, 2017Mid copper/ orange body, thinning off white cap. Aroma is slightly pungent floral and tropical fruit hops. Slightly bitter upfront but fades quickly, flavor of oranges, grass and malts, finishes long with a slight bitterness. Overall it’s rather satisfying.
FROTHINGSLOSH (11821) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 5, 2017Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a vibrant orange-copper color with a medium sized foamy orange white head that left decent lacing. The aroma was sweetish and tangy with tropical fruit, pine, cactus and orange. The flavor was bitter, malty and yeasty with carmel, pine, tropical fruit and orange. Medium length finish. Moderately full bodied. Ok.
jgb9348 (9218) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JAN 24, 2017Crisp light copper and bronze coloured body with a thinnish off-white head that fades fast. Aroma of nice floral, piney and tropical fruit hops along with some light toffee notes and a bit of lager yeast and biscuits. Light-bodied; Strong grassy and nutty flavours at first with a bit of an earthy and mellow character and hints of pungent cardboard and lager-y flavours throughout. Aftertaste shows some subdued grain, a bit of toffee, earth, nuts and a fresh hop character that shows well, but struggles to get past the pungent lager yeast. Overall, a decent beer at best that shows some nice qualities, but isn’t great nor worth searching out. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased in the full twelve pack at Whole Foods in Fair Lakes (Fairfax), Virginia on 16-July-2016 for US$15,99/twelve pack sampled at home in Washington 23-January-2017.
willisread (6518) - Farmington Hills, Michigan, USA - DEC 28, 2016Bottle from West Side. Pours a clear gold with a full finger of head that lingers. Grassy hops with some light citrus in the background. Crisp and clean on the palate. A touch of caramel and more grapefruit on the palate. Medium bitter finish. Easy drinking.
S_Side_Smitty (776) - Lakeland, Florida, USA - DEC 24, 2016Pours a clear copper with a medium head. Aroma is sweet syrupy biscuit with a fruity hop background. Taste is initially very ’wet’ with mild syrup followed by a buscuit-hoppy-bitter combination at the mid. At the end there is this unusual vegetal flavor in allegiance with the hop bitterness going long.
BillWyce (1436) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 20, 2016Pours clear amber color with a small, thin white head that was gone quickly. Tropical and citrus fruit aromas with a caramel malt base. Body is medium and lightly oily. Mild dryness to the finish. Flavors match the aroma, with the tropical fruit notes a bit stronger than the citrus.
