COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Frambozen begins with the aroma of fresh red raspberries, followed by the ripe seductiveness of a fruity brown ale with depth and delicate malt notes. It is deep ruby in color, with flavors just as rich. Every year, New Belgium sends a delegate to the Pacific Northwest to oversee the process of turning freshly picked berries into a pure juice to be added in fermentation. The coming of Thanksgiving at New Belgium is ushered in with the first sighting of our cellar operators scuttling about, covered head to tow in a festive crimson berry wash.

Crowler. Clear chestnut with a touch of maroon and a lasting film of creamy bubbles. Nose has raspberries, caramel, toasted walnut and cocoa. Tastes the same. Medium mouthfeel with medium fizz and an easy drinking balance. Mild astringency from the raspberry makes the finish pleasantly dry. Nice change-of-pace cold weather brew.

From Nov 2005 Poured from bottle(room temp) a deep gold-brown with a good sized head that showed good lacing. The smell is all raspberry and that's just fine with me as I want as much infusion of the fruit in this ale as I can get! The taste is a wonderful mix of raspberry and malt and works so darn well, it's hard to put the glass down. I've enjoyed this brew for many years and will continue to as long as NB wants to brew it. ;^)

Originally rated on 1/8/2009. Very nice aroma, raspberries of course, it wasnt in your face overwhelming, but very noticeable. The body was a deep dark brown that was almost black, with a reddish hue. Flavor was raspberries at first then a malty finish. Overall it was a pretty nice beer.

thin tan head with a definite pinkish tinge. The brew is very clear walnut brown... just spots of lacing. Nose is distinctive "real raspberry".... also shows a nice clean brown malty character with deep toast and hints of lite cocoa. Flavor mirrors the nose and is actually pretty dry... just clean malts and sorta jammy raspberry essence.... pretty refreshing actually. Body is a bit on the light side, but plenty of smooth small bubble carbonation makes it seem a little creamy.

Bottle to snifter. An immediate gawd awful aroma of rotten fruit and mustiness that makes me feel sick. a dark red pour with a medium sized light brown head. Taste is all papery thin and sugary sweetness like a lollipop. This is horrible.

Rating #1392 - 15.12.2014 On tap @revolutionyeg. Pours a deep ruby Aroma is strong raspberry. Taste is more of the same, sweet berry juicyness, light tartness. Palate is heavy with sweetness, but it isn’t unwelcome in this instance.

AgentAle (2819) - Fort Mcmurray, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 17, 2015
Aroma is raspberry and sulphur. Taste is pale malts with faint caramel and mostly raspberry tones that are fairly well balanced and not consuming. Appearance is a clear amber with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well.
