COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our first venture into organically-produced beer, Mothership Wit Organic Wheat Beer elevates the zesty Wit or White beers of Belgium. Our far-flung Beer Rangers affectionately refer to our Fort Collins brewery as the Mothership, a name that conjures images of earth shot from space and the interconnectivity of it all. Mothership Wit is brewed with wheat and barley malt, as well as coriander and orange peel spicing resulting in a balance of citrus and sour flavors held in suspension by a bright burst of carbonation.

UPDATED: APR 19, 2021 This is a backlog rating from 2007 from a bottle shared by Tmoney99 or shigadeyo, from notes. When I had this beer it was average to below average for the style and not something I wanted to have again or I just didn't get back to my notes because of my technology at the time, work and/or family. Words to describe this beer are wheat, mild spices, citrus, light herbal, ok.

UPDATED: APR 11, 2021 It pours yellow with a hazy clarity. It has a white head with excellent head retention. It has aromas of spices with coriander. There are some citrus and orange notes with some doughy wheat. It has spicy flavors with coriander, orange and citrus. There is a flowery like element in the background. It has a medium light body with a somewhat zesty sharp finish. Overall, there are some decent flavors but the way they work together is unbalanced.

Mpuntmuts (669) - NETHERLANDS - DEC 16, 2020
UPDATED: DEC 16, 2020 Hazy yellow pour with a huge merengue head on top that quickly dissapears. Lightly malty, coriander, grassy, citrus notes for aroma but very subdued. Taste is softly bitter sweet with a hint of acidic freshness. Thin to halfway medium body with quite the carbonation. Meh, extremely bland, boring witbier. Quenches the thirst but that's about it.

Pours cloudy pale golden colored with a finger of white head that has excellent retention and lacing. Starts with wheat malt, banana and coriander flavors. Finishes smooth with orange and spicy yeast flavors. Pretty good wit.

UPDATED: NOV 8, 2020 From a bottle, excited to try this since wit biers are some of my faves. Pour is hazy vanilla yella. Nice friendly easy beery nose. Friendly, easy civilized attitude. Not bad, good level of co2 as well. Mild, friendly and nice. Not real yummy bit it is a good example of what real beer should be like, not some stupid ass straight hopped bomb, a kind reminder of the roots of beer. Not sure I would call this sour but it does have a hint of tartness about it that is greatly appreciated. Good overall beer tasting experience, thanks NB. Could do a sixer of these.
