juiceisloose (3665) - Windermere, Florida, USA - MAY 10, 2019
UPDATED: MAY 10, 2019 500ml bottle. Pours a cloudy golden color and topped by a thick off white head of foam that slowly settles to a thin film and leaves some streaks of lace on the glass. The aroma shows notes of tart citrus fruit with grapefruit, sour orange, and lemon, some funk, and crisp wheat over a pale malt base with some old oak and farmhouse notes. The flavor follows suit with notes of sour citrus of lemon, grapefruit, and orange up front to go with note of crisp wheat, some farmhouse funk, and pale malt sweetness with some oaky sourness on the back end. Medium bodied with ample carbonation that leads to a clean, slightly dry, and tart citrus and farmhouse funk on the finish. Really nicely done Geuze style sour ale and another masterful sour beer from the fruitcaves at New Glarus. Great tasting stuff and awesome beer.

50cl bottle pours a mostly clear gold with some creamy, white head. Stinky nose, a little poopy, onion patch, funk, band aid, lemon. Flavor is lemony, band aid, leathery too, funk. Finishes dry, funky, tart. Very solid.

Pours cloudy golden with low white head. Aroma of grass, cracked garden branches, green grapes. Taste is medium tart, crisp and grape forward, very garden foraging kind of vibe, light sweet finish. Light and crisp body with average carbonation.

The beer pours a pale straw color with a small but reasonably well retained head & some lacing on the glass.

The aroma is musty with a good bit of damp wood and mineral but also has some reasonable fruitiness to it as well,.

The flavor is very dry and tart with a good bit of lemon & a good bit of minerallity throughout. Far more earthy than bright but still delicious & well balanced despite everything going on here.

Another good aproximation of the original deal.

16oz bottle. Filtered clean golden-tan body. Steady white head. Juicy, fruity, house(?) NG sour tones. Really solid, nice depth. Isn't really the same experience as a Cantlllon or other premium Belgian examples, but is quite a solid sour beer nonetheless. Big sour wheat tones..a pinch leaning into the lacto cheesy side, but equalized by the fruity strawberry tones. Really good stuff...this is what should be in Thumbprint 4packs.

Upfront sour citrus, lemon peel, sour grape. Finishes with oak-cask whisky, and a bit of Belgian yeast. Excellent and unusual.
