alexsdad06 (16451) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - APR 29, 2021UPDATED: APR 29, 2021 This is a backlog rating from 2008 from a bottle picked up in a trade, from notes. When I had this beer it was average to below average for the style and not something I wanted to have again or I just didn't get back to my notes because of my technology at the time, work and/or family. Words to describe this beer are toasted malts, caramel, grassy, lightly spicy, nice drinking amber.
legendarythor (3) - - MAY 11, 2020 does not count UPDATED: MAY 13, 2020 Has a hoppy finish good beer kinda tastes like a dark shiner cheergood great winter beer
JoeMcPhee (11573) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 7, 2020UPDATED: JAN 7, 2020 Deep amber/copper coloured pour. Thin off-white head. The nose is really lovely. Sweet toasted malt, some earthy/caramelly malt aroma. There's a bit of floral/earthy hop aroma and flavour along with a bit of peppery and floral backnote. Really lovely beer. Nothing here really sticks out or stands out but it's really well-integrated and tasty. Huh - I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I do... but there you go.
mrjaxson (924) - .08 Junction, WI, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 1, 2020UPDATED: JAN 1, 2020 It's not every beer where malted barley is the star of the aroma, but it's the case with Snowshow. So good is the aroma that it could easily be confused with the early morning barley porridge made for you and that special someone at a memorable New England B&B. (Sorry, this review suddenly devolved into a Hallmark Channel Christmas special.)
LagerChecker34 (66) - - DEC 7, 2019UPDATED: JAN 18, 2020 A full flavored dark amber. It almost looks like a brown ale. But the taste is amber. It has a lot of flavor and taste. It has a little bit of spice to it. Thus the winter beer title. It's good.
crajun (1483) - , Texas, USA - JUN 5, 2018above average marks all around. malty aroma with hint of spices. healthy palate. all around good brew - above average in all categories. nothing specifically stands out but a good drink.
balloonbuffoon (1125) - - APR 7, 201812floz bottle, no date, $1.75 single, pint glass. Pours with little head development atop a dark amber body. Smell is similar to a caramel pastry. The palate is medium in body, and malty with a sweet toasted taste. Fair for beers in this style range.
Troupis (302) - - DEC 26, 2017Good for what it is but not a beer I’d pick up and drink though great on a cold day and a need for a marley-forward beer.
Great looking beer with little aroma and a simple grain forward palate.
Bottle day after Christmas in sub zero temps.

pkbites (1380) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 11, 2017Lovely reddish brown pour. Faint head, some lacing on the glass. Malt and tea aroma. Lighter malts and a watery mouthfeel. OK but not stupendous. ON tap at Jacksons Blue Ribbon Pub, Milwaukee.
