COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by Berliner fairies, Dan sourced Wisconsin fresh apples from the Kickapoo Valley. He crushed the 2018 harvest and nurtured a spontaneous fermentation for one year to create this enchanted Berliner Apfel. Sparkling bubbles prance with effervescent notes of green apple and pear. This is a delicate creation to delight the senses. A Brewer’s alchemy of barley and apples magically creates the palest golden bier imaginable to sparkle as sunlight dances.

hauxe (3004) - Butzbach, GERMANY - NOV 8, 2021
UPDATED: NOV 8, 2021 Bottle courtesy of Virby44. Gold with a frothy, white head. Apple to apple pie aroma, spice. Taste is mildly sweet, full of apple pie, turning mildly tart at the end with a surge of juicy apple tartness and some lingering spices and dough. Medium bodied, prickly carbonation. Closer to an apple cider than a traditional Berliner Weiße, but suffers none for it.

juiceisloose (3665) - Windermere, Florida, USA - AUG 15, 2020
UPDATED: AUG 15, 2020 12 oz bottle. Pours a lightly hazy golden color and capped by a small off white layer of foam that settles quickly to a thin film. The aroma shows notes of lightly tart and sweet apple juice, some pears, and fruit skins over a light wheat malt base with a hint of tartness. Smells like a cross between a cider and a Berliner. The flavor follows suits notes of crisp sweet apple, tart green apple, and a touch of pear to go with the light wheat malts and classic pressed cider apple juice. The only real tartness is from the apples and not necessarily from the Berliner base, but that’s fine. Medium bodied with lively carbonation that leads to clean, crisp, and a lightly tart green apple and pear on the finish with the lingering fresh apple juice on the back. Love the blend of the base Berliner with the apples. I much prefer this to a traditional cider. Another great fruit beer yet again, but that was never a doubt from Dan and the team at New Glarus.

Brigadier (4590) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 21, 2020
UPDATED: JAN 21, 2020 12 ounce bottle An excellent fruity session beer plays like a toned down version of New Glarus' flagship sours. Rather than the biting cherries, rhubarbs, or other fruits, the apple in this one settles gently on the throat. Even so it remains top notch and very enjoyable. AROMA / APPEARANCE Fresh Granny Smith apples sweeten the air like a jar of homemade apple sauce seasoned with a little tartness. The crisp ivory head retains a lovely and attractive level of carbonation that powers the golden base. FLAVOR / PALATE Fresh apple pie with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream lightens the tongue. The initial impression also continues little traces of honey before cooling on the back of the throat. A balanced fruity Berliner Weiss is less forward than initially expected. Still, the hints of carbonation manage to etch a memorable experience which is well worth a four pack.
