COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mistral winds blow juicy pear and citrus notes through our single hop 12.5° Plato Bohemian Style Pilsner.

Master Brewer Daniel Carey shares the kinship of daily nurturing with small French hop farmers to deliver an Alsatian inspired treasure.

40IBU's of masterful French Mistral hops steal the spotlight from our traditional double decoction brew. The single hop beer is a very limited bottling only available here with special thanks to Francis Heitz and his French hop growers.

11/19/18. 12oz bottle from the brewery. Crisp golden pour with a lovely white head that sticks, good lacing. Sweet pear on the aroma with fresh cut grass, a touch of lemon, and soft doughy Pilsner malts. Good flavor, clean pale maltiness, a touch of soft pizza dough, sweet honey and pear, mild bitterness, a hint of spice and lingering dryness begs for another sip. Tasty!

12oz bottle. Pours a clear golden color and topped by a thin off white head of foam that setttles quickly to a thin film and leaves spots of lace on the glass. The aroma shows notes of toasted pale and cracker malts, cereal grains, floral grassy notes and a touch of citrus from the hops along with a hint of earthiness. The flavor follows suit with the cereal grains, toasted cracker malts, and a touch of caramel to go with some citrus and grassy floral notes with a solid hop bitterness on the backend to balance out the sweetness. Medium bodied with ample carbonation that leads to a clean, crisp, and bitter sweet finish. Interesting use of the mistral hops with adding a new e citrus presence to the Pilsner base. Solid and easy drinking Pils here but I expect nothing less from the master himself, Dan Carey.

12 ounce bottle from the brewery, 9/5/18. Clear gold, thin white head, good retention. Aroma of crackery pale malt, herbal, green, floral and earthy hops. Taste is earthy, green, snappy hops, pale malt, hint of caramel. Medium bodied, crisp, lingering bitterness, well balanced. Nice.

On tap at brewery While waiting to pick up some R&D bottles from the store I decided to start my day with a nice refreshing choice. While the fruited releases (Strawberry Rhubarb, Belgian Red, etc) provide a safe fallback this new release delivered as well. I don't know where to find it besides the Hilltop but if you run across a keg then indulge in a light session beer that demonstrates New Glarus' prowess across many styles. AROMA / APPEARANCE The carbonated golden body shines as it lets most light pass. Fresh snowy head melts away over the course of a few minutes. Bright starchy lemons, wheat, and citrus enrich the air with a fresh feel that lightens the mood. FLAVOR / PALATE Lemons, crisp wheat, and soft earthy hops rise up to greet the tongue and senses with fresh bubbly enthusiasm. Dryer sheets soaked in lemon pledge yield to a vibrant finish that avoids overstaying its welcome. To the last drop this top notch release gives you your money's worth.

On tap at the brewery. Golden amber pour with a ring of bubbly white head. Nose is lightly sweet with husky grain and doughy bread. Honey and sweet grassy herbal hops. Tatse is obscured by the carbonation, but the honey sweetness comes through and mingles well with a light fruitiness and a light grassy hop finish. A little sharp in the carbonation. Man, I wish this was in six packs instead of Two Women.

Bottle thanks to joshmcg000. Clear gold gold pour with a tall, chunky white head. Aroma is full of floral and tree fruit notes, lots of cereal. Flavor is loaded with cereal, then floral and playful citrus, some pear, or sweet apple-like notes as well. The hop notes area really interesting and the malt is just about perfect. Light body that straddles the line between crisp and creamy, light, somewhat spritzy carbonation. Really fantastic stuff.

Here is a beer I drank in my dining room.
Pours perfectly clear, very pale, it's got a big fluffy head and good lacing on the glass.

The aroma is all sorts of clean laundry dried on the line on a windy spring day... that and some biscuity malt and a bit of very cool fruity hops. Unmistakably euro-oils on the aroma but simultaneously very unique.

The flavor is absurd, yes lots of pear, lots of juicy hop character but in no way like the citric bombs of the US.... just a very fruit forward hop character with an herbal bitterness and a bit of pine... wow, it's dry, it's got a very clean & lovable husky malt character... but man that is one unique hop flavor, sheesh.
