Bottled; thanks to the awesome and lovely Mary from Wisconsin! Traded this for a couple of Beavertown cans. Poured really murky. London murky has been beaten by Wisconsin murky. Aroma is Tarty, oak, Belgian yeast, oud bruin, oak. Taste is bubblegum, Burgundy red wine, oak, sour cherries, clove and coriander. Excellent.

Bottle drunk on 12/30/13. Sick of looking at this beer, time to drink it. No idea why I still have this thing. 7 years old and still a wonderful appearance. Thin beige head is quick to recede, typical to style. Carbonation still seems appropriate and the color is a beautiful deep amber, mostly clear due to the sediment all falling out of solution and creating a very thick layer on the bottom of the bottle. Aroma improves significantly in the first three to four minutes. Not that it’s bad to start. Chocolate covered raspberries and brown sugar give way to rich madeira and balsamic vinegar notes, clearing some of the chocolate/fruity sweetness away.
Rich, multi-layered flavor profile seems to have held up beautifully. I’m getting a strong German chocolate cake-like note (light fudge and vanilla, tons of coconut). Surprised it’s this sweet still after all this time, but by no means is it cloying. Mouthfeel is nearly flawless. No thinning or wateriness; the carbonation still tight and helpful in dispersing the maltiness. Great beer here, wonder what it tasted like fresh. Must have been very powerful. Lots of barrel-character but none of the astringency and no sign of the alcohol. I could stand a little bit more sourness and maybe a touch less on the coconut/vanilla barrel character, but hard to complain.

Bottle, courtesy Brigadier, thanks! Pour is murky brown, small off-white head. Some retention/lace. Aroma of apple, cranberry, vanilla, toffee. Taste is lightly tart, fruity, brown sugar, cranberry, citrus, cinnamon, vanilla. Palate is soft, slick, fruity/tart finish.

Bottle from a free beer week box I think. Still lots of fresh fruit, tart cherry, apple, oak, vanilla. Taste is smooth with lots of mixed fruit. Same cherry, apple, lots of oak and vanilla notes with red grapes. A bit oxidized. No real puckering left.

Reddish brown pour with some tart cherries and some faint vinegar notes. Part of an Unplugged tasting with some aged bottles. Like most of the others, these have seen better days, but still ok.

Found the last bottle of this in the cellar, score baby! Sweet/sour cherry aroma, and maybe some rancid (but in a good way) brown sugared raison. Thin and sour with tons of funky fruit, plenty of acid. Tart and dry finish. I’m trying to imagine how it could better in any way, and not coming up with much. I think it’s changed just a little in the past seven years, maybe the brett has yielded to the acid. Freakin’ incredible.

Thanks Mensch! Bottle vintage 2006. Aroma is sour, musty, cheese and basement notes with faint fruit. Taste is some vinegar, sour cherry followed by a creamy smoothness. It’s also got a nice sweetness to it. The carbonation is super mellow. And the finish is sour and funky but sweet with a faint lingering quality.

i rated the wrong one i think so this is the rating from the other vintage please disregard the other one/ i was given this beer at the eclipse party in 2012 its not the 2010 unplugged label so i think its the 06 being it looks like what the 06 says it looks like. that being said wooooowzer this beer was amazing poured a bronze amber with a small fleeting white head first the smell of fresh apples then small pepper and cinnamon notes it is then a whole new ball game sour tart fruit in my face no wounder these guys are the fruit beer gods. wow

12 oz. bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks a lot, Dany), pours a filthy reddish brown with a small beige head. Nose is full of tart cherries, apple cider vinegar, oak barrels and subtle notes of vanilla. Flavour is much the same, bringing out loads of apple cider vinegar, fairly tart cherries, accentuated beautifully by the oak barrels, which provides a lovely wood and vanilla quality to it. Mouthfeel is vinegary, but also fairly thick, with all notes in great balance. This beer has aged beautifully over the 6+ years. Really well-balanced, with not too extreme tartness. Reminds me of the amazing Cuvee de Tomme by Lost Abbey, though not as complex. All in all, excellent stuff.
