COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Aged in Bourbon Barrels Our '16 Cuvée is a complex mixture of sweet malts, fruits, herbs and spices. We then blend this beer with ale aged in bourbon barrels for a year. To take our '16 Cuvée to another level of complexity we added a mix of bacteria for tartness and brettanomyces for a bit of funk to the barrels. 2017: 9.5% 2016: 10% ABV 2015: 10% 2014 Vintages and earlier are listed here: https://www.ratebeer.com/beer/beername/99089/

mcberko (34280) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 12, 2020
UPDATED: MAY 12, 2020 650mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out tart fruits, a bit of wood, and bready caramel. Flavour is surely unintentionally sour, with acetic notes, tart red fruits, and a touch of wood. This is clearly infected and shouldn’t be sold (thanks Ferris).

TimE (8459) - Tokyo, JAPAN - DEC 22, 2019
UPDATED: DEC 22, 2019 Dirty brown color, green apples, cherries, oak in the nose. Light body, alcohol well hidden. Dry, but lacks depth, but decent

azzurro (1954) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 5, 2019
UPDATED: AUG 5, 2019 A bit disappointing for me, which is the Brett in it, that removes some of the smoothness to it, still, a very good and complex beer. A must try.

bdleedahl (4795) - , Saxony, GERMANY - JUN 8, 2019
UPDATED: JUN 8, 2019 Tasty sour beer with lots of complexity. a different take on a medium sour beer. Not bourbony or woody, but different. bottle from nickel brook

Gerbeer (5947) - Nanoose Bay, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 1, 2019
UPDATED: APR 1, 2019 2017 vintage. 500 ml bottle. A bit of a gusher. Pours a deep brown with moderate head. Aromas of vinous wood and wet malts. Flavors follow same with red wine vinegar and sweeter malts Can't get much bourbon. Disappointing.

Oakes (26757) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 23, 2019
UPDATED: MAR 23, 2019 2017 bottle from Legacy. Ruddy brown colour, with a fairly thick head. Has a deep, woody nose with an underlying cherry-like fruit note, and vinous depths, with chocolate accents. Familiar, yet different. Tart up front, with sweeter fruit notes, tannins, and then a touch of bourbon. Complex, a bit of an 'all over the place vibe', yet it's not incoherent. Just a lot of stuff going on. Like 25% easy-drinker and 75% sipper.

Franckg (3796) - Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 9, 2019

UPDATED: JUL 19, 2018 Bottled. The label is saying 2017. Wax sealed. Hazy amber brown color. Beige head, vanished quickly. Aroma of figs, red wine, fruits, sweet and sour. Taste mirrors the aroma. Taste starts sour, becomes dry and fruity. Alcohol hidden. Dry, bitter and sour finish. Balanced. Red wine aftertaste. Overall very nice!
