COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the US this is called "Winter Ale".

A dark ale brewed specially for the Christmas season, with a rich, complex taste of caramel. This is a strong, dark and rather sweet Christmas Beer – just the way we think a Christmas beer should be.

Recommended serving temperature 12°C/53°F. Great with cheese or nuts. Ingredients: Lager, Munich, caramel, black, and chocolate malt; Chinook, Columbus, and Centennial hops; English ale yeast, and our local Grimstad water.

19°P, 30 IBU, 8.5 % ABV.

UPDATED: APR 20, 2021 This is a backlog rating from 2009 from a bottle at home, from notes. When I had this beer it was average to below average for the style and not something I wanted to have again or I just didn't get back to my notes because of my technology at the time, work and/or family. Words to describe this beer are sweet malts, caramel, dark fruits, spices, pretty good.

UPDATED: SEP 30, 2020 This bottle is coming from Amstein, St-Légier. Enjoying it a lot after a long day in the forest and with my son at the Bouveret. The body is brown and black with an average carbonation, white foam. For me, it is a solid and winter ale. In my point of view, this one has the level of a trappist 10 of Rochefort. A lovely and complex beer or aromatic playing with the words. This beverage has a side of cherry, porto, mineral with a generous side of nuts, syrupy and malty, fruity and well balanced, alcohol present but it is well integrated, hop at the final, the porto of the beer, in a driest version.
