Pittoro (330) - Krakow, POLAND - JUL 17, 2021UPDATED: JUL 21, 2021 Almost no aroma, and if you find some, it's dark, salty(?) roast. Dark coffee in taste. Long proper roasted aftertaste. Bit fizzy at first. Fairly dry, but with noticeable roasted body. Somewhere in between porter and stout.
Poca carbonazione.
bobblackcoffee (91) - - JAN 7, 2021UPDATED: JAN 7, 2021 Chocolate hit and mince pie follow through. Norwegian craft on a dark day: American insurrectionist fascists, Sakartvelo polyphony on orthodox Christmas, a live-streamed fireplace on the box, Korean soju chaser, Malaysian failed state backdrop. Some hope for the New Year in a bottle. Fruity and plush, nice surprise.
PapaSkeetSkeet (1319) - Providence, Rhode Island, USA - AUG 15, 2020UPDATED: AUG 15, 2020 On tap at Fortnight in downtown Providence, RI. Pours black with a cappuccino head, fine, 2cm thick, good retention. Beautiful. Darker than I would expect for most porters. Aroma is some chocolate, big brown sugar, bit of moist grass and vegetation, fresh rain, hints of soy sauce and chalk. Body is oily, medium-weight, bit starchy, medium-fine carbonation, medium-low burn, creamy. Carbonation feels good, but I wish it felt a bit heavier. Flavor is some soy sauce, chocolate, big moist grass and vegetation, some toasted flour, touch of bitterness (grassy and a hint of sap), a hint of tart cherry in there from yeast maybe? (Guess it's not a baltic then) It tastes a bit more attenuated and slight sourness than I originally expected. Overall, a neat porter! Fair amount of soy-sauce and a bit attenuated / sour for the style (just a bit!)
