UPDATED: SEP 14, 2021 Bottle. Pours clear golden amber, small off white head, decent lacing. Aroma is Belgian yeast, field grass, white pepper, coriander, floral notes. Flavor is light sweet, light plus bitter. Merlin body. Hits the classic saison notes well.

UPDATED: AUG 4, 2021 750 ml from Grocery Outlet. Aroma has notes of clove, bubblegum, bread, wet stone. Pours hazy golden with a large cream-white pillowy head with excellent retention. Taste is sweet with spicy Belgian yeast phenols in all the right ways. Weird I've never rated this. I thought I had. Good stuff.

UPDATED: MAY 18, 2021 Golden orange with a white head. Fruity, some light barn notes, cracker malt, yeast, and some sweet sugary notes. Medium bodied. Finish is some barn-like fruit and a bit peppery. Classic for a reason.

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2021 Bottle. That fruity Belgian yeast aroma. Very sweet sugary Belgian ale, with some fruity yeast character. Aftertaste is also sticky saccharine. In the words of Mr. horse, 'No sir, I don't like it'.

UPDATED: SEP 20, 2019 One of the most amazing Saison style beers I have ever had. This is a legendary beer and has multiple deep levels of flavor. By far my favorite beer so far in my 15 year beer testing journey. If I had a choice for a last supper, it would consist of this saison a lamb shank and a side saffron rice prepared by the love of my life Helen.

UPDATED: SEP 12, 2019 Medium vit short off white head. Opaque light amber color. Light phenol aroma with a touch of Wood cask. Nice phenol taste with a fine caramell touch. Low bitterness and balanced body.
