b3shine (11340) - Noblesville, Indiana, USA - JAN 12, 2022
UPDATED: JAN 12, 2022 500 ml bottle to snifter, shared with the Mrs (2014 vintage). Pours a murky amberish brown with lighter caramel head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells and tastes of strong notes of of dark fruit followed by vanilla, oak, and a bit of wheat whiskey. Not sour, but a bit tart from the intense dark fruit presence. Mouthfeel is medium-full to full-bodied and moderately tart, bitter, and warming. Good, not t great. 4-5 ounces is plenty.

Svesse (12015) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - MAR 12, 2021
UPDATED: MAR 12, 2021 (Bottle) Hazy brown colour with brief, foamy, beige head. Malty, vinous nose with notes of caramel, nuts, brown bread, raisins, prunes, brown sugar and whisky. Malty, vinous taste with caramel, dried fruit, raisins, prunes, brown sugar, spices (nuteg, cinnamon, clove), chocolate, wood, whiskey and a vinous, warming finish with a balanced spicy bitterness. Full body, quite sweet. Not shy, but really tasty and quite powerful. The barrel ageing has added some interesting flavours, but not taken over. Great beer!

nearbeer (7699) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 9, 2020
UPDATED: MAR 9, 2020 500 ml. C&C 2014 vintage; 14.44% abv. Pours a clear, ruby-tinged chestnut with a thin film of foam. Aroma of whiskey-soaked raisin cake with vanilla icing and a hint of chocolate. Flavors of the same with added notes of orange zest and barrel. Dessert beer but it's well in balance and could be wildly dangerous. Medium-heavy bodied with medium carbonation. Just a bit of chest warming gives the only indicator of the big abv.

coachd (2388) - O'Fallon, Missouri, USA - NOV 24, 2019
UPDATED: NOV 24, 2019 2015 version, I hope it's the same, didn't feel like adding a new beer. Strong aroma of prunes, plum, fig, vanilla, oak, cola and booze. Very complex. Dark brown pour with no head. Tastes chocolatey, some of the dark fruit from the aroma with a hot finish. Palate is thin, maybe the age of the bottle is to blame for that. Pretty good, perhaps a bit overrated.

Gott!
