Unclear dark black brown colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, burnt, wood, moderate to light heavy hoppy, pine, spruce, grapefruit, licorice. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, burnt, roasted, wood, pine - spruce, licorice. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20160804]

Pours almost black with thin head. Good hop profile with some roasted malts and coffee.

Can 0,33. Pours almoast Black with a medium head. Sweet notes of roasted malt, chocolate, citrus, some tropical fruits, hops. Medium body and average carbonation.

Brussels Trip. Backlog. Mango, citrus, spruce, coffee, roasty, toast. Medium to heavy bitter.

Draft. A black beer with a brown shine under a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, and a bit of fruit. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, chocolate, and citrus fruits, leading to a bitter finish.

Tap@Ørsted Ølbar, Copenhagen - Black pour with creamy beige head. Roasted and sweet malty and hoppy action, some caramel, cocoa, burnt earth, charred roasted malty and hoppy into the finish, packs in allot for the low abv.

330ml can. Pours almost black with a thick tan head. Aroma: tropical fruits, roasted malts, pine. Taste: roasted malts, chocolate, tropical fruity hops, pine, citrus, bitter finish. Medium body and carbonation. Really nice amount of hops in this, great flavour for a sessionable black IPA.

Pours almost black with an off white head. Toasted grain on the nose. Certainly a decent hop profile for a black IPA. Hoppiness gives out to dark chocolate and a bitter finish. Decent.

330 ml can from Wansted Tap. Pours black with beige head, some lacing on a glass. Aroma is hoppy and malty, sweet and bitter, chocolate and burnt. Taste is pine, coffee, earthy. Slightly oily texture, a bit empty, bitter finish. Not bad, but a touch disappointing.

2016 catch up - Can at home - A nice "session" black IPA. There was a level of hops and bitterness that did not overpower the malt and the smoothness of the underlying stout. Would drink again if I found it for a better price, which was eye wateringly expensive. Maybe I would buy it again if I could find it cheaper somewhere.
