UPDATED: JAN 3, 2022 16 oz. can from mixed 4 pack at Jewel stores across Chicago. Does it bounce? Not trying that idea. This coffee stout, the label notes, uses coffee from Soul Loco Artisan Roasters in Maple Park, IL. It pours another frothy head with some Guinness-like cascading down the side, just like the Spotted Elephant. Smell has plenty of coffee to it, of course. Slight malt sweetness, but not as roasty as the Spotted Elephant, either. Just some nice sweet coffee. It’s a fine stout beer taste. Coffee runs around the side of the palate, with coffee roast malts up front. No spices, no fruit. Just a sturdy stout with a little cola sweetness, and more coffee as I drink it further down.

UPDATED: DEC 17, 2021 16oz can 12/16/21 (Jewel-Osco) 40° in Shaker. Pours black with a tan head that dissipates rather quickly. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, and slight chocolate. Taste of the same with coffee being more dominant than other flavors. This medium to full bodied brew is not too shabby.

Scipio (2133) - Palatine, Illinois, USA - DEC 4, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 4, 2021 Pours black with a thin, dark tan head. The aroma is mostly roasted malt and coffee, with some additional chocolate. Lightly sweet taste. The flavors are pretty similar to the nose. The coffee and roasted notes remain on top. I do detect minor ginger in here, and also a subtle burnt quality, so that is different. Coffee finish. Its lighter in body and smooth in texture. This is a pretty good coffee stout. However, I haven't received a jolt of Christmas spirit as I was hoping.

ryecatcher (1632) - Beverly, Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 15, 2021
UPDATED: NOV 15, 2021 Can from Binny's in Evergreen Park. Dark stouty pour, not much head. Nose is roast, cocoa puffs and coffee. Mouth is medium bodied, lots of roast barley and coffee notes. Decent. Feliz Navidad!
