UPDATED: JAN 3, 2022 Mixed 4 pack from Jewel. Since I’ve not cared much for nut flavors, I’ll start with this one, since I might be pleasantly surprised. What I first see is a nice amber beer, fitting to my Sam Adams Boston Lager glass, with a nice, stiff head. The nose is nice on malts, though not quite as toasty as the color might imply. I do catch the nut flavor: it’s there, but doesn’t try to be too obvious, so I’m happy about that. Hazelnut comes in a little toasty, and they’ve overcome the issues of oils in nuts, which might have killed the head. Instead there’s some nice amber malts and hazelnuts. A little sweet, but not sugary.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2021 Pours a clear amber with a minimal white head. Hazelnut is heaviest in the nose, followed by toasted malt, then slight caramel and spice. The taste isn't sweet. This is unfortunate since it would have helped an overall mild and bland flavor palate. There is hazelnut, which isn't very strong, and hints of spice. Thats about all, not bad, just dull. Hazelnut finish. Medium bodied and smooth in texture. This one will be very difficult to remember.

UPDATED: DEC 14, 2021 16 oz can 12/13/21 (Jewel-Osco) 41° in Shaker. Pours amber with a big head that dissipates rather quickly. Aroma of malt and slight Hazelnut. Taste of the same. This lighter bodied brew is not bad but not as good as the other red ale.

ryecatcher (1632) - Beverly, Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 15, 2021
UPDATED: NOV 15, 2021 Can from Evergreen Park Binny's. Amber poor with minimal white head, not really any retention to speak of. Nose is malty. Lighter bodied than the other two I tried so far from this mixed four pack. Detectable bitterness and then a lot of what tastes more like coconut than hazelnut. Mediocre at best. Rudolph's reindeer girlfriend deserves better.
