750ml bottle thanks to Matt pours out burnt orange topped with a white head. Nose is citrus hops some cracked pepper and a nice spice mix. Taste is more of the nice bread malts citrus hops and a spice kick.

Bottle from Craigs, dregs run. Pours cloudy orange-brown with a thin white head. Aromas of citrus, spice. Taste is boozy, bitter, some caramel. Clean finish.

Fairly murky but dense orange, soft but dense ringed head. Nose is bright gummy spicy marmalade and big tropical fruit spiciness. Carbonation is still fairly solid and mouthfeel clean and lean enough for the ABV and sweetness abound. Finishes clean enough, lip licking sweetness and vibrant malt spicy linger.

Pours cloudy orange with a slight white head. Aroma is weak caramel and slight grass. Taste is caramel, mango, pine, cardboard.

Bomber. Pours a hazy copper orange with an off white head and aroma of hops and citrus. Taste is of hops, citrus, , fruity notes, caramel, and malts, with a tropical frui, slightly bitter finish.

Pours a dark rusty orange pour with a small beige head. Nose is deep citrus, predominately tropical with very soft pine .Taste is a nice bittersweet mouthful of tropical fruit . Finishes on the same citrusy bittersweet notes with a dry finish . Nice ! Quaff Score 7 / 10

December 28th, 2012 - I might have a holiday hang over - not the alcohol kind, mind you, but the sort that finds an emotional crutch on all the decor and temporally bracketed good cheer and good will - but beer is still on the menu. Tonight’s treat is O’dell’s Pond Hopper, a collaborative project with Thornbridge, way away on the other side of the Atlantic. These are always promising, as some of the subtler tastes found in English ales can often benefit bolder, more explosive profiles of American brews. I check to see if this maxim-sans-evidence is true in this case. A tropical fruit hat of aromas emanates from the brew - a foxy orange and hazy liquid - including banana, mango, a splash of grapefruit for just the right amount of bitterness, the sugary sweetness and cinnamon of a cinnamon roll, and a yeasty dough smell. The flavor is thick and boozy, and supported by flavors of apricot and peach, and a deep orange. These fruit flavors blaze across the tongue and leave in its wake the flavor of apricot jam on the aftertaste. The yeasty note from the nose appears here too, though is often crowded out by the heavy alcohol and fruity esters. Did the stereotype hold up? Not at all. This is a big, bold, brassy brew. Whatever the English breweries added were not restraints, but more flavor. It’s a bit wild, but I like it.
