ClarkVV (9063) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - JAN 9, 2022
UPDATED: JAN 9, 2022 Canned 12/6/21, drunk 1/9/22. Clear, medium-amber with a small-to-medium-sized, light beige head showing moderately-strong retention. Dainty, lightly acidic melanoidin character with soft, light caramel, various brown bread and light sourdough notes with no alcohol or flaw. Extremely clean, with light minerality. Richly malty in the mouth with intense softness, tons of sourdough and red fruits but no excessiveness of acidity or toasted malt that sometimes makes doppelbocks too fatiguing. This drinks incredibly easily for its size. Lingering pepper, herbs, mineral and rich honey. Fantastic and phenomenally well-executed.

UPDATED: JUN 28, 2021 Fantastic version of the classic style. Bread, light spice, layered malt, toasted oak. Chestnut colored. Smooth and classic. A tiny bit high on the abv, otherwise elite.

JPDIPSO (6618) - Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 6, 2021
UPDATED: MAR 6, 2021 Clear orange/copper color with a stable dense head of tan bubbles. Mildly sour malt and mild oak scents. Malt scents grow as it sets. Somewhat tangy feel. Mild Malt wanders around as the acidity starts to fade and also gains some spice and mild berries. Has an Doppelsticke Altbier quality. Finish is quite clean. Not quite what I expected, but this is growing on me.
