COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Growing up in Canada the Double Double (or we say Double Up) was a staple. Two creams and two sugars. We took that silky smooth and sweet coffee that we remembered growing up on and said “let’s make a beer.” Our Coffee Milk Stout takes a deliciously dark stout and tempers it with cream and coffee flavours and added lactose so it’s silky and smooth. You’ll notice big coffee aromas, a fulsome body and a smooth, soft finish. There is no bitter after taste and you’ll want to pair this with mittens and a cold winter day.

UPDATED: JAN 12, 2022 LCBO can while locked in hotel due to Omicron and subzero temps. Dark chestnut brown color with a medium brown head. Aroma is similar to chocolate milk, peanut butter and a hint of coffee. The flavor is sweet malt, creamy coffee with brown sugar and hints of roasted marshmallow. Sweet by design but not overdone. Nice.

UPDATED: JAN 29, 2021 Can from the LCBO. Jet black pour, with a medium, creamy dark brown head. Aroma is a blast of coffee, and dark, robust roasty malts. Hints of vanilla, and a silky smooth mouthfeel, and carb. Finish is medium bitter, roasty coffee, hitns of soy, soft vanilla sweetness. I was quite impressed. Robust, but not over the top, and very smooth, and well balanced.

UPDATED: JAN 24, 2021 Dark brown pour, thumb sized head. coffee, sugary aroma, cream. Milk and coffee up front, semi-sweet chocolate, lactose sweetness. Smooth thicker body. A bit too cloying for me.

Strangebrewer (1910) - Chatham, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 23, 2021
UPDATED: JAN 23, 2021 can. Poured opaque black with a silky mocha head. Roasted coffee aroma. Medium bodied, smooth carbonation, oily slick mouthfeel. Heavy roasted malty flavour, sweet and creamy with notes of dark roast coffee, smoke and treacle. Super smooth with low bitterness.

Metalchopz (5735) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 6, 2021
UPDATED: JAN 6, 2021 Pours a black colour with a mocha-coloured head, average retention for the creaminess, frothiness, leaving a little lace on top. Big coffee nose with a roasted malt base. The taste has the mix of both of these, with the coffee being milder. Not really thick, and the dryness in the finish is quite nice to make this one go down nicely. Some milkiness comes out with time, making this more enjoyable.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2020 Not very good, but worth a sip at a tasting. Donut store coffee, too much milk powder.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2020 473 ml can from the LCBO. Pours a very dark brown colour with modest-sized light tan head. Aroma is quite big on milk sugar with roasty coffee and cocoa. Flavour has semisweet chocolate, lactose, coffee and roasted grains. Gentler carbonation. Nice.

Tessic (1979) - Brantford, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 18, 2020
UPDATED: DEC 18, 2020 This milk stout poured a black colour with a creamy, brown head. Nice lacing. Scents include Quik chocolate powder, coffee and black cherries. First swig was extra creamy with flavours of cocoa, boozy coffee, cream and liqueur. Finish is burnt with strong coffee flavours lingering.

Tranquillity (3741) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 12, 2020
UPDATED: DEC 12, 2020 Canned. Black body, almost no head. The aroma has strong fresh coffee. The taste has hazelnut and chocolate. Thick and oily.
