UPDATED: OCT 22, 2021 Cask at the Castle, Inverness, 10/10/21. Black with a good sized khaki cap, good lacing ensues. Nose is chocolate, roast malts, toffee, dried fruits. Taste comprises cocoa powder, roasted bite, oatmeal biscuit, grains, nutty, light coffee notes. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Solid cask stout.

UPDATED: DEC 27, 2019 Cask @Luppolo Station (Rome). Bruna intensa/nera, schiuma color cappuccino media. Al naso malti tostati, caffè, nocciola, cacao in polvere. In bocca è equilibrata, con discreto spunto amaro e acidità da tostato. Corpo leggero. Buona.

UPDATED: NOV 16, 2018 Cask from hop and barley. Black colour and a thick tan head. Malty aroma slightly roasted. Taste bittersweet. Slightly light body.

Cask @ Castle Hotel, Manchester. Black with a creamy off-white head. Has a very light stout character with a palatably smooth texture. Its roasted malts are best in its nose, but bland in taste.

Cask. Black in colour. Roast malts, coffee, dark chocolate, some smoke. Spicy and earthy hops. Sweet roast malty throughout. Moderately bitter hoppy finish. Sessionable. Very drinkable. (2011)

Pours black, thin tan head. Charcoal and dark fruits on the nose. Slightly sour taste which knocked a few marks off for me, but it’s tasty enough - more dark fruit and some burnt toast. A wee bit thin. OK.
