From old tasting notes. Pale gold color. Lots of big bubbles do rocky white head. Sweet soda pop aroma. Sour malt flavor upfront. Effervescent light dry hop finish. Little or no aftertaste. Thin bodied and bland.

6/6/04 at Ortlieb’s Brewery. I haven’t had many good lagers, or many lagers at all for that matter. No, the standard American megabrews don’t count as real beer, either. That said, being a microbrew, this beer is quite good as far as lagers go. Not much head, but the aroma was on the sweet side with a very mild hop presence. Initial taste is sweet and citrusy. Finish wasn’t fantastic, but I did like it. This beer is still worlds above Bud, Coors, Miller, etc. It’s not very complex, but it is refreshing.

Pours pale yellow, with medium head. TAstes crisp, smooth, refreshing, with some malt, citrus, and hop flavors.

04.04.04 Tap at Citizen's Bank Park, Philly, PA. Are the Phillies resurrecting old brews? First the Dock Street, now this. Pours a lighter yellow with ample, fizzy, disappearing head in a plastic cup. Not much aroma other than light graininess. Lots of bready malts in flavor; simple, unpretentious, and quite tasty for a ballpark beer. Cheaper than BMC, too! Refreshing (not that I needed that on a cold, wet, day) and could use a touch of dry bitterness at the end. Unassuming and forgettable.

Maize-colored with a grain husk aroma. Standard US lager with a sturdy malt character. OK.

Very average lager, a bit of a darker tint to the golden color, very little head, not a whole lot going on with this brew

This is a fine lager. I enjoyed it very much. Great appearance, good aroma and a balanced, very enjoyable lager. The label is awesome too. Can't go wrong here.
