UPDATED: APR 3, 2021 A dark orange DIPA with a thick frothy lacing light mocha head. In aroma, nice caramel malt with light vinous character, resinous hops, very nice. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with vinous notes, treacle, resinous hops, light citrus, pleasant and smooth.

UPDATED: MAY 13, 2020 Frothy headed, hazyish deep golden with a sweet, vinous nose, and a hint of yeast. Very boozy taste, sweet and malty with fruity hop flavours following on, and a sweet but not cloying aftertaste

Aus der Dose beim Berlin Beer Week 2015 - Closing Event auf der Baustelle der Stone Brewing Berlin 2015-07 getrunken. Dieses Ale kommt mit einer tollen Südfrucht Aromen in Nase und Gaumen daher. Der Hopfen rundet das Ganze sehr gut ab.

Sweet, malty, tropical aroma with grapefruit, a bit of peach, cereal, some molasses, a bit of honey, and a bit of mango. The heat from all the booze pierces through the hop notes fairly prominently. Prickles the mouth with lively carbonation and a good deal of alcohol flavor. Aftertaste is malty bitter, with the fruity hops permeating the back of the mouth for a while.

0.355l can from the beer army outpost in new bern in 2015, $5.20. pours a cloudy orange with a big steady head. aroma of papaya, melon, peaches, honey, caramel. flavour of candied oranges, melon, tangerine, leaves, biscuit. very sweet, but not cloying. full body, oily mouthfeel. strong bitter citrusy finish. alcohol is well hidden. very nice.

Very solid imperial IPA. Tried for the first time at the tasting room in 2010. Pours dark golden, thick hop body with some pine and grapefruit. Very evenly balanced and aggressively boozy.

Pours yellow and translucent with a nice 4-finger frothy white head with a rich aroma of pine and citrus. Tastes of a rich malt backbone upfront with a mild hop finish. It’s medium to full bodied and is somewhat viscous with very little carbonation. The alcohol is fairly well hidden.

Crowler acquired at the source. Pours bright clear orange with a foamy off white head that fades to a persistent cap, good lacing. This has a resiny, fruity nose with some malty notes. Flavors are juicy bitter citrus, caramel malts, grain. Sweet midpalate, medium carbonation. Long lingering finish with a bitter orange kick about halfway through. Excellent stuff.
