UPDATED: DEC 30, 2021 10 ounce at the brewery - oh shit, this thing smells smoky as fuck - straight up campfire in a glass - flavor is lightly sweet, lightly tart, with some notes of dark fruit and caramelized sugars - robust smokiness without developing that abrasive character that plagues so many beers like this - lightly warming alcohol - ranks up there with schlenkerla beers in terms of smoke levels - delicious.
UPDATED: DEC 25, 2020 Black hue with a thin foamy tan head. Lovely nose of peaty woody dark malt with rich leathery roasty black malt complexity. It almost smells like scotch but richer and black maltier. Smooth dark flavor that’s very woody and lightly Smokey peaty with a touch of leather and earthy roast malt. Really complex and unlike anything I’ve tasted in beer before.
UPDATED: MAY 7, 2019 Draught at OMF: pours near black with a small head head. Aroma is super smokey, like a veritable fire rather than sausage. Taste is smokey, but has an interesting soda-like finish.
