COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Light, delicate and subtle. A mantra for almost all of our beer. We like beer that’s approachable rather than confrontational, with its elements in harmony. We’re not making brash, chaotic statements designed to impress as taster-sized samples. This one is a riff on the classic pairing of beer and lemon, AKA the shandy. It has a more complex aroma from the choice of a beautifully expressive yeast. The addition of thyme gently twists the beer into something much more grown up; it’s perfect before or served with the beginning of a meal; the thyme is just a little suggestive of a botanical driven aperitif, designed to excite the olfactory and soothe the digestive. This beer is incredibly refreshing and moreish.

rauchbier (4713) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - JAN 11, 2022
UPDATED: JAN 11, 2022 Bottle, from Beer52. Faintly hazy lemon gold, thin short lived white head and low condition. Muted fruity tart nose with a faint toffee note and some earthy yeastiness. Quite drying in the mouth but at the same time oily, with a strange herbal note, some sweet butterscotch and gentle lemon citrus. Finish is brief, dry and slightly bitter, with a muted yeasty funkiness lingering.
