COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Pirate Life x Ballast Point Trans Pacific Partnership. A 6.0% American Strong Pale Ale liberally hopped with US, NZ and Australian hops and finished with Finger Limes and Coriander in the Whirlpool. To ensure that the tap decal stood out among our range we enlisted the help of our mate Steen Jones who came through with the goods: An epic scene of a tall ship sailing across the Pacific. We believe the beer, the artwork and the story behind it all reflect the unique style of Pirate Life and Ballast Point while celebrating the collaborative nature that helped the craft beer industry grow to become what it is today...

UPDATED: MAY 6, 2019 I really am not a fan of collaboration beers. Each brewery has its own identity if they are any good and when these 2 or more styles are blended, often the result is not great. This is no exception, PL & BP are different playing in the same space and to me this just didn't work. Not sure the finger limes belonged in here, did the beer no favours

Hazy amber, well carbonated, medium white head with some lacing. Aroma of passion fruit, mango and ale malts. Tastes lightly bitter, caramel, biscuit, mango and passion fruit with a citric note. Delicious. Medium bodied and rightly carbonated, smooth and easy to drink with a long medium bitter finish. Delicious, as I said, very nice ale.

Can at home in Hackney - sourced from Beer Hawk. Pours clear orange-gold with a modest, creamy topping. The nose holds orange rind, pine, needles, dry pale mats. Light-medium sweet flavour with more dry piney bitterness, some orange peel, hay, a light grainy note. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Finishes with more piney bitterness, citrus peel, grainy pale malts. Kind of basic, but decent.

KeefOz (3372) - TARRAGINDI, AUSTRALIA - MAR 17, 2018
Poured a translucent golden with a 1cm off-white frothy head that diminished quickly to a blotchy cap that laced poorly. Carbonation high, lively and coarse. Aroma nicely of pine and sweet pineapple. Taste of sweet tropical fruits, pine and sweet malt, all with moderate to strong bitterness. Light to medium body. Smooth and dry with a slightly thin mouthfeel and a nice lingering bitterness.

floydian1 (1901) - FNQ, Australia, - MAR 9, 2018
Can (355ml). Hazy golden, loose white head settles to a stable collar. Juicy orangey and lime citrus hop notes dominate the nose, grainy malts, minimal resin. Flavour follows the nose, juicy hop finish, moderate bitterness, resin at the very end. Medium body and carbonation, oily texture. Pleasant APA of the fruity kind.
