UPDATED: MAY 22, 2019 W zapachu sporo palonej kawy, karmel i ogólna słodkość, laktoza, trochę stęchłego drewna, delikatna śliwka. Płyn ciemny, nieprzejrzysty. Brunatna piana ładnie się buduje choć znika dość szybko. W smaku kawa, kawa i jeszcze trochę kawy. Ostateczne espresso. ciemna czekolada, ździebko ciemnych owoców, jarzębina, trochę karmelu. Jest pełne w smaku i mimo małego ekstraktu czuć nieco alkohol, który lekko tuli przełyk. W posmaku duża kawowa kwaśność łączy się z owocowa słodyczą.

Piana: Niewielka, kremowa o niewielkiej, zbitej strukturze. Nie za długo pokazuje się nad piwem. Szybciutko ulatania się zatrzymując na poziomie 5 milimetrów. Brakuje lacingu.
Zapach: Tutaj mamy wyraźny aromat kawy z Kenii. Kolejne wyczuwalne nuty zapachowe to kakao, melasa, czekolada, oraz nuty korzenne. Pokazała się także znaczna paloność. W drugim rzucie odrobina karmelu i orzechów ziemnych. Aromat jest całkiem przyjemny, ale nie jest super intensywny.
Smak: W smaku kawa dyktuje wszystkie warunki. Jest mocno palona, ziarnista. Ma czekoladowy posmak i dużą porcję nut orzechowych. Wyróżniające się składowe to: orzechy włoskie, kakao, melasa, odrobina drewna i przypraw korzennych. Mamy tutaj trunek o umiarkowanej teksturze i półsłodkim klimacie. Goryczka jest średniej maści, finisz gorzki, palony od ziaren kawy. Laktoza dała zaledwie minimalną kremowość. Nie ma, aż takiej śliskiej kołderki, jakiej bym się spodziewał w kawowym porterze.
Wysycenie: Średnie.
Podsumowanie:
Kawa zdominowała całkowicie profil tego piwa. Nadała mu szereg nut palonych, orzechowych, czekoladowych, ale równocześcle zapewniła gorzko-palony finisz. Spodziewałem się większej gładkości, a co za tym idzie większego udziału laktozy. Z pewnością piwo ma interesujący profil, ale mnie nie uwiodło.

UPDATED: NOV 16, 2020 Coffee porter de 7,8 % abv, avec lactose et grains de café sélectionnés du Kenya. Mon exemplaire était à 4 mois après sa date. Couleur noir, comme un vrai bon café noir, à l’opacité très forte. Mousse brun foncé, soyeuse, stable à 1 mm. Arômes de café, chocolat, pointe de vanille, malt torréfié. 1ère bouche souple à l’entame malt/café/chocolat, avec une pointe de charbon de bois. Arrière-bouche longue, complexe (rare, à ce niveau de la dégustation). 2ème avec une grande densité du café, et une beauté de l’ensemble. Arrière-bouche où le chocolat passe davantage. 3ème à la grande fusion et au grand équilibre. Arrière-bouche avec de très grandes nuances. Longueur avec ganache, café grand cru, et de grandes saveurs. Jambes huileuses, longues. Levure fine, de caractère, belle ligne. Alcool très bien, il soutient grandement la longueur. Finale complète, dense. CONCLUSION : ce qui me fait plaisir est d’avoir vu la cote de ratebeer après avoir donné la mienne … et quand je vois que sur 141 ratings, cette bière n’avait pas encore eu de 5, je me pose beaucoup de questions !!! On peut dire que cette 'must kuld' est un must ...

Bottle @ barley House. Marrone scuro velato schiuma.beige finissima persistente. Aroma intenso e complesso, frutta secca nocciole e caffè tostatura, caffè cioccolato cacao amaro. Note erbacee di luppolo. Gusto abboccato quasi amabile all’ingresso, poi il tostato prevale sul maltato,con caffè, qualche nota di vaniglia e cioccolato.leggeri sentori aciduli. Rotonda, calda, oleosa, poco carbonata. Equilibrata ed armonica.
