UPDATED: JAN 4, 2022 Pohjala Winter Banger 12.5 Apparently, made with cinnamon nutmeg and brandy (rum?) soaked raisins. Sark inky black with thin rusty foam. The spices were just the subtlest hints in the aftertaste while this big bold full bodied brew delivered roasty dark chocolate flavor. Very tasty but much less winter seasonal than I expected. Really smooth for such a high abv beer.

DocuDrinks (1555) - Riga, LATVIA - JUN 6, 2021
UPDATED: JUN 6, 2021 Last one of the day Smell- medium strong, malt, coffee, roast, dark chocholate. Foam- medium-thick, roast, some sweetness, alcohol, malt, acidic. Head is small, dark brown color. Appearance - brewer bottle cap, the bottle itself is simple. Black color. few carbonation bubbles. From - stout glass Taste - malty, alcoholic, dark chocolate, acidic tones, coffee. Very alcoholic, no alcohol is hidden at all. Not bad, but a bit too boozy. Not for me.

Boutip (8358) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 8, 2021
UPDATED: MAY 8, 2021 Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with some black chocolate notes and some cinnamon and light spices notes is enjoyable. Taste is also a good mix of roasted malt with some black chocolate with light residual sugar notes and cinnamon and light spices notes with a semi-dry finish. Body is full with good carbonation with no real apparent alcohol notes. Interesting mix of flavours with good drinkability/complexity mix.

Gangstergafje (2697) - Capelle aan den IJssel, NETHERLANDS - APR 4, 2021
UPDATED: APR 4, 2021 04-04-2021; bottle; at home (bought at Saveur Bière). The looks of the beer are very nice. It is a perfectly looking Stout beer. It is very nice and dark. It has a nice dark ruby red colour, in the dark it is almost black. On top there is a nice layer of creamy almond colored foam. Foam retention is average and a minimal drape is left on the beer. Looking good. The aroma of the beer is very nice. There is chocolate and coffee, vanilla, tonca bean, cinnamon, some spicy nutmeg. The malts are nice and roasted and give some toasty aromas. They enhance the chocolate and coffee aromas. There is some nice raisin and a touch of brandy. Hops are nice and earthy, with an herbal touch. It is a very nice bouquet of aromas, with some very nice winter aromas. Great. The taste of the beer is also very nice. Sweet malts, bitter hops, bitter roast and toast, with some savory notes. There is a slight sour touch in the back. The aromas are very rich and the beer is perfectly balanced. Really very nicely done. The palate of the beer is also very nice. The body is full and the texture smooth and creamy. Carbonation is medium. The finish of the beer is also very nice. Filled with malts, roast, toast, chocolate, some raisin and lovely alcohol warmth. All in all, the beer is very nice. Another great one from Põhjala.
