COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed for the chez Léon mussels/French fries chain, and also for the Brussels Airlines.

Léon beer is pale and full-bodied. It has been specially concocted by Master Brewer Jean Pagura in collaboration with the Alken-Maes brewery to create a delicious combination to go together with the Belgian and Brussels dishes served at chez Léon. This beer is unique because it can only be tasted at chez Léon in the rue des Bouchers where it is served in a large, round glass, specially designed for it.

It is the result of a clever mix of pale malts, spring and winter barley and rare hops from Germany and the UK . It derives its whole personality from a final addition of sweet and sour orange peel.

This Belgian high fermentation beer is served from the barrel and is 7.2°. It was first brewed at Jumet in the installations at the ancestral Union brewery, later on 7° at Alken.

A mid golden coloured beer with a thick white head. A heady, slightly floral aroma, hoppy and mildly spicy. Dry mouthfeel. The taste starts off with a tart citrusy flavour, then a floral note, followed by a mildly spicy, somewhat wheat beer in flavour, clove and cinnamon, this bring in a slightly cloying sweeter malt taste. The finish continues with the combination of tart citrus and sweetish spice and malt. Tasted at Chez Leon, Brussels. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at an exhibition. Clear gold thick white head. It’s a standard Belgian blond beer. Quite tasty. Some esters. Some hop on the finish. Spicy hop. It’s fine but it’ s a little bit same as all the other Belgian blonds. Fine.
