UPDATED: DEC 20, 2021 bottle. Black. Opaque. Huge chocolate aroma. Chile powder, oak, vanilla. Flavor is sweet chocolate. Roast. Chilies. Very good.

UPDATED: JAN 20, 2020 Bottle poured into a snifter. Thicker black with a khaki head of foam. Roasty cake and pepper heat. Sweet and chocolate forward. Bigger body and medium carbonation.

UPDATED: OCT 19, 2019 Pitch black color. Excellent charred wood, vanilla, dark chocolate, nutty, molasses and coffee notes in the nose. Wow. Low carbonation really nice charred wood and bourbon character. But mouthfeel is not as great as expected. Modestly boozy. I meant it’s good, but it’s just not mindblowing on the palate. Slightly sweet.

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2019 Bottle from shop in SF. Black color, beige head. Bitter taste with roasted malts, nuts, coffee, bourbon, chocolate and dark fruits. Bitter finish with roasted malts, coffee, bourbon, chocolate, nuts, dark fruits and licorice. Excellent imperial stout.

Apparence : Noire, peu ou pas de col brun ne laissant qu'un anneau, faible carbonatation.
Nez : Chocolat noir, fut, malt grillé, café, bien intégré.
Goût : Beaucoup de chocolat noir (légèrement vanillé), malt grillé, touche caramélisée, de café, fut de bourbon, légèrement épicé par les chilis en finale.
Sensation : Effervescence faible, bon corps, chaleur d'alcool présente dans une longue finale avec une touche épicée et grillée. Bref : Excellente! Très bel exemple d'intégration où tous les éléments sont perceptibles : base maltée, cacao, vanille, café, chilis, fut de bourbon; sans pour autant qu'aucun ne vienne voler la vedette aux autres. On n'est pas dans le terrain des grosses bières desserts surfaites, et c'est apprécié.

Barrel-aged beauty, a thick, cuddly, warm loaf of decadent stout goodness. All your favorite Bomb! goodies, mixed in with a hefty bourbon finish and a woodsy oak flourish in the finish. Boozy heat adds depth to the pepper spice, and the bourbon melds nicely with the vanilla and cacao. Spent too much time drinking the deconstructed Bombs; nice to get back to the real thing.

Bottle bought in Portland in 2016. Black with a small tan head. Aroma and taste of dark malt, coffee, chocolate and some bourbon. Smooth and with a well hidden alcohol. A pleasant one.

On tap at MBCC 2018. Pours black with tan head. Roasted malts, chocolate, nuts, bourbon, some vanilla, cacao. Sweet. Smooth texture.
