COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Funky Gold Amarillo is the second beer in our dry-hopped sour ale series. We took our sour golden ale, Gold, and gave it a heavy dosing of Amarillo hops. The result is a beer that is a mix of tropical fruit and Prairie funk. Notes of peach, orange, white wine, and citrusy brett can be found in the flavor and aroma.

UPDATED: JAN 20, 2020 Rami Rami is drinking a Funky Gold Amarillo by Prairie Artisan Ales at Jabeerwocky Strasznie fajne polaczenie bretow z chmielem, chlalne, dosc goryczkowe, nieco zahaczajace o apteke bretty, jakies owocowe posmaki.

UPDATED: JUL 17, 2019 Hazy deep straw. Good head. Lifted citrus nose. Very clean and fresh. Mineral. Floral edge. Chalk. Palate has a sweet fruit entry followed by a very clean fresh acid driven palate. Rich. Slightly bitter. Zesty. A very balanced sour. Lovely.

Zółta, słomkowa, zmętniona barwa. Obfita piana, niestety bardzo szybko opada. W aromacie pierwsze skrzypce gra chmiel Amarillo oczywiście. Wysycenie mimo obfitej piany raczej średnie do wysokiego. Wysoka pijalność i rześkość

Slightly hazy golden with a head that doesn't last. Funky earthy bretty lactic nose with a sour dry hoppy leafy funk. Big bitter grapefruity pithy bretty funk flavor with a leafy citrusy tone and light acidity and strong grapefruity pith. It's a bit funky and sharp and earthy citric.

Draft. An unclear golden beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of funk, brett, hops, and malt. The flavor is acidic with notes of brettanomyces, citrus fruits, malt, and hops, leading to a tart finish.

Spannendes Ding!

Golden, slightly hazy coloured body with a nice, four centimetre tall dense off-white head. Aroma of super soured grapes, yeast, brett, apples, grain and a bit of light earth with some bright hops and tropical fruit on the finish - very soured aroma though - nice! Light to Medium-bodied; Strong sour flavour of grapes, lemons and a bit of herbs with a nice smooth hop flavour along with some maltiness and quite a bit of wild funk throughout. Aftertaste is rich and robust with a very nice herbal and dry hoppy flavour along with some sweetness from the fruits and a bunch of wild yeast flavours that dominate, most of them being sour bretty flavours, but they are all good and lead to a ton of complexity on the finish. Overall, a rich and very interesting beer with a lot of sourness, a smooth complexity and a nice flavour that makes the mouth water, but quenches it at the same time! I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased from Lueken’s Liquor in Dunedin, Florida on 03-October-2015 for US$9,99 sampled at home in Washington on 19-November-2016.
