Svesse (12015) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - OCT 17, 2021UPDATED: OCT 17, 2021 (Bottle) Black colour with no head. Malty, roasty, vinous nose with notes of dark chocolate, rum, black coffee, caramel, liquorice, coconut, green pepper, orange peel and a touch of tamarind. Malty, roasted, vinous taste with dark chocolate, black coffee, rum, vanilla, salty liquorice, a touch of chilli and a vinous, warming finish with a balanced cacao bitterness and a slight chilli heat. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. I wouldn't say it's the most balanced beer around, but rich, complex and powerful, with chocolate, coffee, rum and chilli. Great beer.

Alcohol relatively well hidden. Nice caramel, malty, toffee sweetness. Pronounced barrel aromas of vanilla and coconut. No oxidation. Very mellow. Quite wonderful and well deserving of top 50 ranking.
AleMaestro53 (27) - Texas, USA - JUN 30, 2020UPDATED: JUN 30, 2020 Wow. 15% of perfected rum, chocolate, vanilla and chillies that somehow masks the abv. This stout is the real deal. Sip this one, though! I just started aging another bottle 2 weeks ago. Feels like burying pirate booty to dig up later! Arrr!
5/5
tennisjoel (1933) - Rochester, Minnesota, USA - APR 18, 2020UPDATED: APR 18, 2020 12 oz bottle rating. Prairie Pirate bomb pours a silky black with a long lasting chocolate milkshake like head. Rum barrel aging to me can be pretty hit and miss. This is strong coffee, rum, vanilla, slight pepper. The ABV is certainly strong on this one. Rum barrel can sometimes ruin a beer for me. This is drinkable but quite boozy. Slightly let down, as I love most of the Bomb series. This one, not as much.

Some late spice hit. Very very good, but not better than regular bomb for me.
explosivedog (8095) - New York, New York, USA - FEB 21, 2020UPDATED: FEB 21, 2020 Bottle. Pours pitch black with a tan head. Cacao, coffee, chocolate, rich hazelnut, capsicum, pepper, coconut, rich molasses, bitterness, peppery, oak, rum, fruit cake, ancho chile, fruity red wine. That’s probably enough notes. Body is a touch thin but I’m nitpicking. Excellent way to mark 5000 rates!
