Pours opaque, dark brown with a big off-white head. Settles as 1 cm thick, frothy layer of foam crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, almost sugary, malty odor laced with alcohol. Brown sugar, chocolate, raisins, vanilla with hints of marzipan. Dark alcohol peeking in underneath the sweet stuff.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by more moderate sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is sugary sweet with a subtle boozy edge. Lingers for a while.
Very pleasant Quadrupel which manages to hide its prominent
ABV under a intense sweet flavor.

Pecan nuts, marzipan, nougat, caramel, grapefruit peel, bitter almond. Dry bitterness, some sweetness. Full bodied, oily texture, lively carbonated, dry bittersweet finish. Well balanced, rather complex and surprisingly drinkable for 10 abv!

Dazu kommen dunkle Schokolade und eine leichte Bitterkeit wie von Röstaromen. Die lange Flaschenreifung ist hier deutlich. Kein schlechtes Bier!
