Pours black color with a small beige head. Aroma is roasty, some tar notes, syrup and cola, mild licorice too. Flavor is malty and sweet syrupy, licorice and some salmiac. Oily palate, dry bitter finish.

HBF 2016. Very unclear notes written in the A4 sized beer guide. So just numers and some comments: rich roastiness, coffee, sweet malty fudge.

Tap at Helsinki craft beer festival. Tried "alone in the dark" last year here. Medium brown head, with aroma of coffee, burnt malts. Palate of dark chocolate, toffees, a bit sweet, with hints of alcohol.

RIch husky barley aroma. Rich stale coffee grounds in the taste, a bit dry and drying.. However, rather decent. Finish is coffee grounds and old hop bitterness. Just a bit rough. Does cover the 10% well.

Draught@HBF2016. Black colour, mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is alcohol, some nutty notes, mild floral and toffeeish notes with some slight chocolate as well. Flavour is chocolate, alcohol, some toffee, nuts and mild ripe fruitiness. Wellbalanced and tasty.

Draught@HBF2016. Black color, light brown head. Black patent malt aroma. Burnt malt flavor with harsh alcohol. Medium-full body, medium carbonation. No good.

(Keg at HBF2016) The beer poured nearly black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, liquorice and ash. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, sweetness, liquorice, ash and bitterness. A brew with not so good aroma and decent but too boozy taste.

1/2 pint on tap @ One Pint Pub. Pours very dark brown with no head. Aroma is roasted malts and some fruits, maybe pear. Flavor is roasted malts, fruits and hops. Nice.

One Pint Pub, Helsinki. Keg. Opaque black - brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is smooth with just a light amount of very fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, touches of coffee and dark chocolate. Light and semi dry finish with earthy coffee linger. It’s not bad but does get a little dry and chewy after a while.

Draught at One Pint. Black color, beige head. Bitter taste with roasted malts, espresso, nuts, burnt wood, a bit of dark fruits and licorice. Bitter finish with roasted malts, burnt espresso, a bit of dark fruits and licorice. Decent imperial stout, but rather light on variety of flavors.
