COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A sour, salty, and unfiltered wheat beer style that almost went extinct. Originally brewed in the German city of Goslar, and now predominantly brewed in Leipzig. Very refreshing and flavorful!

UPDATED: APR 11, 2019 This is complex and very interesting....yet light and drinkable. Friend from Tampa brought a growler of this camping. First time I had a beer like this....a light wheaty-salty sour. A cloudy medium yellow appearance. It's kind of like that salty lemonade drink that you get at a Vietnamese restaurant. I may have to pick up one of these to bring home next time that I am in Tampa, so I can sample again and drink it at my own pace.

Refrigerated growler poured into a glass. Clear golden with small white head. Aroma is slightly tart, light body, some carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is slightly tart lemon and some brine.

On tap at Rapp, pours a cloudy yellowish blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out lightly tart citrus, lacto and a touch of salt. Flavour is along the same lines, with acidic citrus, light salt and a touch of lacto. Acidic and lacto-y. It’s okay.

UPDATED: JUL 20, 2017 Beautiful salty sour wheat, cloudy, light head, true to the Gose of Goslar Germany. Not insulted with fruit or syrups, the way it should be brewed and served. Usually in the 4.5 abc range.

UPDATED: DEC 27, 2016 They bottled this once about 3 years ago. I found a bottle at my mother’s house and we opened and drank it. Good but when I had it at the brewery... (this rate)... so much better. Cloudy white/cream. Very little head. Lime, seawater, light biscuit. The taste hits you sideways. Tart lemon and fresh salt in abundance. Long salty finish. A work of art. Blown away.

Draft on the patio at Cajun Cafe in Pinellas Park. Phenomenal, traditional gose. Nice hit of salinity at first and then a mix of wheat and tart sourness. Great beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Keg at the brewpub, RBWG ’15, 20/02/15. Hazed pale yellow with a moderately appointed off white covering. Nose is pissy lemon, straw, sharp melon on the turn. Taste comprises lemon rind, hay, salt licks, faint bread, orange peel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Adequate gose.

Tap at Rapp. Aroma is huge sour lemon candy with some wheat and mildew. Tastes mildly sour. Not really that salty either. Sour lemon candy, wheat, leather, and paper. Very dry. Decent but disappointing based on the rates here.

Draft from Rapp Brewery. Pours a cloudy yellow with a modest head. Aroma is slight tart lemons, Cheerios, cereal grains, and brine. The taste is similar with the cereal grains coming hard and then the saltiness and slight tart lemons on the finish. Well rounded and really full flavored. Modest carb, medium light body. One of my favs.
