Decent pale ales. Slight malty base with a floral and spicy hop sense. Nothing unique but good nonetheless.

From Jan 2008 I got this bottle as an extra in a trade with JDV. Thanks Deniz! This ours from 12oz bottle..hehe..the foam started rising to the mouth of the bottle as soon as I popped the cap but fear not, there was no loss of any ounces. It has a clear gold look in my SA glass and a very good 2 finger head of foam with some lacing. The smell is of rye and citrus hops and not something that I'm used to smelling so I'm pumped to taste this bad boy. The taste is a mix of rye and some good citrus(grapefruit and another that adds just a touch of sour) and it's quite pleasing to my palate. Nice and dry finish to it and the mouthfeel is on the light side. It's pretty easy to drink as well. The more sips I take, the more I notice the sourness but it's not overdone. It just adds, for me, to the drinkability. I could easily see myself kicking back a few of these in a session. Thanks gain, Deniz. This was an interesting drinking experience.

Dark orange reddish pour from draft at Springbrook. Nice cherry rye and boozy flavor. Hoppy and topical. Not bad

12 oz. bottle. Amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is citrus, spice and fruit. Taste is considerably more malty than the aroma. Spice, caramel, some citrus, light pine, and a nice biting finish from the rye. Decent.

Poured a nice amber color with a small head. Smooth for an IPA with no heavy after taste. Wife shrugged when she tasted it which is different from her usual scowl when tasting an IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appearance: hazy translucent pale amber with one finger of creamy light tan head, good retention and lacing. (4/5) Aroma: stone and tropical fruit, earthy rye, bready malt, light citrus and floral. (7/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate-high bitter. (7/10) Palate: medium body , moderate carbonation, off-dry lingering bitter and mildly spicy finish. (3/5) Nice - there’s a definite rye presence that’s very well integrated with the IPA bitterness, such that neither really dominates. Certainly it’s not as heavy-handed or spicy as some rye ales I’ve had. I’m not saying there’s necessarily anything wrong with a spicy rye beer, but this different, more subtle approach makes for an interesting change. Nothing earth-shattering but a nicely quaffable rye. (En fût au Radio Coffee & Beer): Moelleux biscuit melanoidin, épices rouges et une pelure de tangerine. Saveurs entières, buvabilité transperçante.

Originally rated on 4/2/08. Never had a rye ale before but it was fairly decent, copper-tanish color. rye and malt scented and flavored, has a little bite to it. I Will probably buy it again.

12oz Flasche. Das Foto hier zeigt das falsche Bier. Hellbraunes Bier. Kräftig fruchtiges Aroma mit Roggen und Sauerteig Noten. Geschmack nach Krustenbrot und bitterer Frucht.

Rated based on notes taken 22 Sep 2012 -- No notes. But rated a 4.0 on untapped. Good for it. Adjusted for inflation.
