COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Barrel-aged Barleywine Ale with Strawberries. Yes, Strawberry Jacket. A slightly drier blend of bourbon and rye whiskey barrel English Barleywines aged eighteen months provides a base for the delicate nuances of fresh strawberry to shine while retaining the same balance we expect of our beloved Straight Jacket. Reminiscent a fresh, juicy strawberry atop a crème brûlée, this sipper can accompany dessert or stand on its own. 2021: 14.2%

UPDATED: DEC 19, 2021 Pours clear copper with a thin parchment head. Aroma presents strawberry, toasty malt, boozy notes. Flavor delivers zesty strawberry, toasty malt, caramel, bourbon. Texture offers good body & peppy fizz. Strawberry jacket 22, or 23.

Samuel214 (4202) - Örebro, SWEDEN - OCT 1, 2021
UPDATED: OCT 1, 2021 Burk från Revolution, release 2019. Grumlig brun-orange vätska, lite kloakvatten i utseende.

UPDATED: AUG 22, 2021 Can from Tavour pours clear dark reddish amber with a small beige head. Aroma is bourbon, toffee, oak, strawberry pancakes with maple syrup. Sweet strawberry and toffee, light tannins, booze. Medium body, actually not as heavy as most in the style, light carbonation. Nice beer though.

UPDATED: JUL 17, 2021 Deep Woods 2021. 14.2%! Aged copper with a hue of ruby color. A taller diminishing dark beige head. Interesting aromas, with an oak aged homemade strawberry wine. Some overripe fruit, strawberry jam, and simple bourbon. Sweet candied strawberries on the front which leads to a rather simple malt profile. Sweetness abounds. Strawberries, toasted marshmallows, brandy/whiskey, and honey. Fairly zippy in feel. Alcohol is fairly well hidden, yet my stomach is starting to feel a mild burn. A mix between a cordial and a dessert. Just a bit too sweet for my liking.

UPDATED: JAN 31, 2021 12 oz. can via trade. Pours a cloudy amber with a finger of off-white head that settles into a thick ring and oblong island of film. Notes of strawberry, oak, caramel, brown sugar, raisins, whiskey, dates, tea, and honey. Medium-bodied, with modest carbonation and a sweet, fruity, tangy mouthfeel. Better than expected.

ctipping (3902) - Florida, USA - JUL 8, 2020
UPDATED: JUL 8, 2020 12 oz. can. Pours deep amber. Smells of sweet brown sugar, bourbon, light strawberry acidity. Tastes of bourbon, brown sugar, booze. Oak and strawberry tie together in the finish. Strawberry sharpness accentuates the oak flavor. Works well together, strangely. Heavy, but never cloying. It's a strange mix, but somehow comes together well.
