COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The biggest and baddest IPA we’ve ever made, but with the satisfying drinkability of a Revolution beer. It may look and feel like a sessionable beer, but it ain’t. Six hop varieties including tons of Galaxy infuse this giant IPA with flavors and aromas of pine, passion fruit, and citrus rind. With a surprisingly dry and crisp finish, this is the most drinkable imperial IPA you’ll likely ever have. Drink it fresh.

A huge Imperial IPA, and our first specialty brew in can.

UPDATED: APR 12, 2020 Pours deep copper with a two finger head. It has a big hop aroma with loads of resin. The flavor is a kick in the teeth of hops bitterness. It's not hazy or sweet and juicy. It's more of an old school hop bomb, resinous as hell with some citrus character too. It's held up by a big malt backbone, and it's almost astringent, with a long bitter finish that coats the palate. I like it.

UPDATED: DEC 23, 2019 Can’t believe this is the last year (2019) their (Revolution Brewing) is going to be making this beer. I’ll miss it.

UPDATED: APR 19, 2019 Can from Total wine in Northern Virginia. I like a big malty backbone and this has it, a bit sweet and a bit boozy but they put a lot in and not just hops.

UPDATED: FEB 6, 2019 Draft to taster at The Pint Room. Looks good for the style; a transparent golden orange with eggshell head that slowly but steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells of bitter and citrusy hops alongside a moderately to big bittersweet backbone. Tastes like it smells with a mildly to moderately warming medium full-bodied mouthfeel. Good, not great. Bigger than I prefer.

Clear gold, covering lace. Full body, intense flavor, silky texture, well carbonated, lingering aftertaste. Predominantly bitter but well balanced. Hoppy, packed with flavor, grapefruit. Very enjoyable, delicious. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rated on 11-22-2017. Can. Filled 09/15/17. The appearance is a medium sized fluffy off-white head with an excellent retention, gold transparent body, lively, fast rising carbonation observed, and spotty lacing. The aroma presents citrus hops, tropical fruit, pine hops, grapefruit, tangerine, earthy, spicy, floral, and pale malt. The flavor presents medium-heavy bitterness, citrus hops, tropical fruit, pine hops, grapefruit, tangerine, moderately sweet, pale malt, and a semi-dry finish. The mouthfeel of this beer is lively carbonation and this beer is medium-full bodied. The ABV is somewhat hidden in this beer. It has a lingering bitter finish. It is easy to drink and very tasty. It is worth trying and it is a beer that I would purchase again.

12oz can from Three Cellars in the Falls, 9/15/2017 can date. IPA pour. Super dry hopped nose, citrus. Pale malts. Certainly some of that Galaxy somehow-sweet grapefruity tangy hop. Taste is of sweet and tangy fruits, grapefruit rind, pale malts. A bit raw. Syrupy. Medium bodied. Little alcohol presence. The blend is solid. Finishes to the bitter side of bittersweet. A bit raw, a lot there though. 14

Backlog entry. Good flavors, close to style, as expected without too many surprises.

Can from Merchants. Aroma is citrus, pine, caramel malt, some tropical juice, I can smell it even without my nose in the glass. Appearance is amber golden, off white head, clear. Taste is pretty intense, citrus, rind, pine, caramel malt, syrupy, honey maybe, some tropical fruit. Mouthfeel is decidedly medium body, light carbonation, syrupy citrus pine malt aftertaste. Overall, this one is gonna kick my ass I think. Pretty intense stuff.

A bubbly orange brown with a medium but quickly dissipating white head. Aroma pine, malt, citrus. Full body, a bit creamy but with some carbonation and alcohol. Bitter resin up front, then some sweet caramel, dry piney finish. Solid, nothing new here but accomplishing what it needs to.
