UPDATED: DEC 26, 2021 Draft at Toronto’s, backlog from 2019. Dark chestnut with a small tan head. Raisin, toffee, caramel, bourbon aroma. Flavor is quite sweet and boozy. Caramel, toffee, bourbon soaked dark fruits. Full bodied, soft carbonation. Very nice.

UPDATED: NOV 9, 2021 2020 can split with friends on 11/5/21. Dark brown pour with a thin tan head. Aroma of malt, chocolate, caramel, vanilla and bourbon. Malty and caramelly flavor with chocolate and raisin leading into a vanilla and bourbon finish. Had side by side with Straight Jacket and this one definitely smelled and tasted more chocolatey and caramelly; more decadent. World class BW.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2021 From a shared expensive can. A dark brown pour that lightens somewhat as it rests. Boozy nose with fruit and raisin and brown sugar. Good stuff.

UPDATED: JUL 22, 2021 Pours clear dark mahogany with a light tan head. Aroma is toffee, bourbon, roast and dried fruit. Taste is toffee and fig, moving to buttery notes, roast and wood. Finish is toffee, fig and bourbon. Excellent barley wine.

UPDATED: JUL 17, 2021 2021 Deep Woods series. 15%! Clear umber color with a taller, somewhat fizzy tan head. Thick malt and caramel scents dominate. Bourbon works its way into the nose along with oak and herbs, including wintergreen and coriander. Super smooth and silky. Actually has some some legs which boosts the appearance rate. Initial herbal flavors assault the tongue with some alcohol following. Dark fruits, with dates, figs and caramel apples. The alcohol is primarily bourbon. Finish is long with vanilla and cherries. A definite Old Forester characteristic. A bit hot but not a distraction. Malt from start to finish that is enhance with the barrel aging, not overpowered. Spice comes out at it reaches room temperature, with cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, and coriander. This is a really good bourbon cocktail.

Doskonały balans i niekończące się warstwy i warstwy smaków. Mamy tutaj toffi, wanilię, kokos, migdały, suszone śliwki, mleczną czekoladę, wiśnie w likierze, Kukułki i masę innych słodkich skojarzeń. Kolosalne ciało, gigantyczna, krągła pełnia. Mistrzowska równowaga i szlachetne alkoholowe rozgrzewanie. Wysycenie: Średnie. Podsumowanie: Ponadprzeciętny Barley Wine. Bez cienia zastanawiania Top5 najlepszych jakie piłem. Już podstawka Old Jacket zrobiła na mnie bardzo dobre wrażenie. V.S.O.J. to już w ogóle najwyższy poziom wtajemniczenia. Arcymistrzowski balans i wielopłaszczyznowe wnętrze. Doskonała robota!
