From old tasting notes. Hazy mahogany brown color. Creamy beige head. Fragrant roasted malt nose. Bittersweet roasted malt flavor with candy like nuances. Noticeable hop twang in middle. Bitter burnt malt and hop finish. Interesting and hearty.

"a lightly hopped beer for a rogue ale. kind of non-descript, not fitting into any style well. a decent malt forward beer, but pretty simple really. eh."

Aroma: Jammy; fruit preserves, sweet overall. Appearance: Translucent medium brown with a messy tan head. Flavor: Matches the nose; just feels like a bunch of malts and hops thrown together; sweet; hoppy; jammy mess- just feels aimless. Palate: Medium body, slick texture, flat carbonation, long finish. Overall: Probably the last Rogue beer I’ll ever bother drinking. Now I remember why I don’t bother anymore.

On tap at Union 613. Hazy dark amber with a decent cream head (full disclosure - drunk out of a mason jar...but it worked). Matly sweetness, caramel, bit of toffee, some grapefruit rind and apricot but semi fermented, hints of spice. Moderate+ body, moderate carbonation, semi-sweet, smooth, alcohol is well balanced, becomes slightly dry and then you get an interesting play between the bitterness of the hops and the sweeter malts on the finish. Good.

Love this beer, subtle mocha flavors from malty sweetness holding up to a massive hop variety that somehow creates one delicious harmonious profile

On tap at Maxwells. Very tasty beer; a mix between a brown & an IPA yet the balance is there. Rogue pushes the envelope again & delivers a tasty malt, hop, & yeast mixture.

Sugar fruit, toffee, vanilla and nuts. Thats what stood out in this beer. I also detected the chinook flavor and some mild chocolate. The finish was sweet and hoppy bitter.

Jow (6235) - The Hop, Massachusetts, USA - MAR 9, 2011
On tap and on drink special at Stags Head. Pours dark amber brown. Taste is nutty, earthy, some piney hops, and cinnamon. finish is dry.

3.2
Hophazard (193) - San Francisco, California, USA - FEB 14, 2011
Slight grassy hop aroma followed by cereal grainines. Dark amber with little head. Clean flavor with spicy, piney notes. Unusually crisp and dry for a winter ale. Mouthfeel is rocky with minor astringency at the end. A hoppier version of the style, but a nice diversion from the ordinary.
