COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Belgian style Strong Dark Ale has a tawny brown color and aromas of banana and spice that dominate the initial bouquet of the beer. Lean malt flavors blend perfectly with fruit driven characteristics created by the classic Belgian yeast which fermented this ale. The alcohol content is deceptively smooth just like its sister beer Damnation. Brewed just once a year for a release in January.

Livendadream (483) - New Mexico, USA - JUN 22, 2020
UPDATED: JUN 22, 2020 2014 Btl pours a clear brown/ruby color with a huge creamy off white head that lingers the entire time I drank. Big curtains of lace on glass. Smells of dark ripe fruits, banana, earth, yeast a whiff of alcohol, spices, chocolate and toast. Tastes of ripe NW USA black cherries and banana, sweet caramel, dough, earth, spices, a hint of wood, tobacco and RC cola. Medium body, soft, creamy mouthfeel, tingly carbonation and a mildly tart finish. The alcohol is hidden well. IDK if the age on it mellowed it out, but this beer is super smooth and easy to drink. Amazingly complex, I can’t even describe everything going on here. Even on a 95F day, it tastes fantastic. Russian River never disappoints!

Sötman större i doften än smaken. Torr och känns lättare än vad den är. Väldigt väl dold alkoholstyrka och storlek. Tillbakahållen, elegant belgian strong dark ale.

Brown yellow pour some cherries aromas. Tastes melanoidin. Some cardboard. Not a bit fan of this oxidation circus.

Bottle at Side Project Cellar. 375 mL bottle shared by George. Thanks dude. The pour a darker brown with a light khaki head and a few spots of lace. The aroma is interesting. Lots of dark fruits and a strong Belgian yeast. It’s a little cardboardy, but not too shabby. The flavor is much of the same. Dark fruits, heavy malts, and a light sweetness. Not too bad. The mouth feel is a little heavy with a soft carbonation and a lingeringly sweet and fruity yeast finish.
