COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a dark, slightly chocolatey weizenbock with an undercurrent of bananas and cloves. There is a slight spiciness from the hops and a balanced malt that hides the strength of the beer. It was brewed with Dark Wheat, Light Wheat, Chocolate Wheat, Pilsner, Munich, Special B and Chocolate malts and Northern Brewer hops. We used a traditional Bavarian hefeweizen yeast which gives the beer its distinctive clove and banana character. It is unfiltered. Enjoy at 45°F or warmer. We are curious to see how this beer will age.

bottle, from trade with, I forget. good aroma, sweet, malty, bit oxidized, still ok. chocolate dark orangy brown color, ok head that disappeared quickly, no lace, sweet flavor, medium body, creamy oily mouthfeel, sweet finish. well, again, still holding up well, oxidized, but not badly. clearing out my beer fridge, and the St Arnolds have not disappointed

wow, this beer is strong! But I enjoyed it very much. Hopefully the divine reserve series can be a year round thing

Their new weizenbock is better but maybe this one is just past its prime. Caramel apple and pepper.

12 oz. bottle from ericandersnavy- thanks, Eric! Pours a deep, hazy brown with a small beige ring for a head. Aroma of olives, plums, brown sugar, wet leaves, and cola. Flavor has less fruit and more sweetness; toast, molasses, raisins, berries. Light body, low carbonation, and a tart, sweet mouthfeel. Infected. Not horrible, but clearly infected.

12 ounce bottle poured a deep brown color, aromas of wheat, tartness, nail polish, and some light chocolate. Flavors were the same, nasty aftertaste, this beer did not hold up to the test of time, should have drank this one sooner.

Notes from my backlog: Murky deep brown/purple with a creamy tan head. Rich aroma- chocolaty, raisiny and grape notes and mild roast. Creamy body. Quite malty and roasted for the style. Chocolaty and cleaner than most weizen bocks. Has almost a vinous grape note. Roast on the back. Nice.

ChrisO ’Night Of The Gaylords’ tasting. Hazy brown beer. Low carbonation, well balanced, dark bready malt and light hop fruits. However overall this is a vanilla beer despite it’s abv. Slight sour note in the finish which is also soft and dry.

Pours a deep dark chocolate brown color with a frothy beige head that slowly settles into a thin ring. Minimal lacing. Slightly spicy aroma with hints of pepper and clove countered by bready yeast and some sweeter notes. Picking up chocolate malt, caramel and hazelnut. Medium bodied with a balance of zesty spice, citrus and sweet malt. Lots of peppery, zesty clove up front followed by bready yeast, banana and a more prominent malt profile than the nose hinted at. Notes of caramel and hazelnut along with some banana, brown sugar and cinnamon. Pretty quaffable with a dry finish.
