COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It took 2 years of brewing, tasting and testing to come up with the final recipe for Sam Adams Light. We focused on brewing a flavorful, high quality beer with a light-bodied taste and fewer calories. Sam Adams Light is a unique beer, it’s not a lighter version of our Boston Lager. Sam Adams Light is the only light beer that uses no adjuncts and a traditional brewing process to ensure a balance of flavor and light-bodied taste. No other domestic light beer uses only the four classic ingredients of beer: pure water, lager yeast, Noble hops and barley malt. The quality ingredients that make up Sam Adams Light include two-row malt and some of the most expensive hops in the world, Spalt Spalter Noble hops. At 128 calories, Sam Adams Light features a clean finish and no aftertaste.

UPDATED: NOV 26, 2020 Found out of bottle from a friend. Pours a translucent copper with foamy white head. Standard light malt aroma. Better taste than average for the style.

UPDATED: JUL 23, 2020 Pours copper/amber with a frothy white head. Aroma of rich malt. Taste has sweet malty notes, hints of molasses, literal ghost of a hop note. Palate has lingering, light, toasted malt notes, fairly full-bodied. Reminiscent of a Czech pilsener.

UPDATED: MAR 7, 2019 Thought I had reviewed this but somehow missed. Sampled a few years ago in a variety pack. Remembered it to be basically a lighter version of their Boston Lager. Little less body, less malt, thinner flavor...but still a decent brew, and one of the better light beers out there.

Pours an amber in color with soft white head. Malt forward aroma. Taste is toasted malty in that defined Sam way, with lager yeast character.

From Apr 2008 This pours a clear gold with a 1 finger head of foam. The smell is malty with some caramel and some grain.(corn) Not a bad nose for a light beer. It says 119 calories on the label. The taste is pretty malty with some caramel sweetness and a slight bitterness that shows up mostly in the finish. Good taster this light beer though I'm not a fancier of light beers in general.

Very similar drop to the Boston Lager (just lighter). Malty aroma, slightly dry start with a bitter middle and finish with a malty after taste. Would drink it again if I had to

Light rust and some bumper - almost like the aroma of a Volkswagen beetle from the 70s. Maroon pour. Bitter finish with astringent aftertaste. Bottle at Smithsonian movoe premier.

355ml bottle. Consumed various times. This bottle is form work and I think they might have retired this one, they won’t sell it to us for catering purposes any more. Its a crappy light beer.

Claim they spent 2 years. Probably need to spend 2 more. Like a poor cousin to the Boston Lager - weak flavour, weak body. Only redeeming quality is the cleaner finish.
