oldrtybastrd (5002) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - APR 24, 2016Pours a hazy yellowishcolor. Aromas of berries and some sweet malt. Flavor is a subdued berry taste, and a nice touch of hops.
Jabah (2479) - Fairfax, Virginia, USA - APR 10, 2015This beer is growing on me. It’s not really that fruity as a lot of others like Cherry Wheat or some blueberry wheats that are out there. The flavor of blackberrys is there for sure, just not overwhelming...seems like the perfect amount. This brew doesn’t have that same bittery aftertaste that a lot of Sammy Adams’ beers have. I am finding that the Brewmaster Collections are usually better than the typical ole shwaggy reg Samual Adams. A good dinner beer, or when looking for something on the lighter side.

Poured into a perfect pint.
2.75 A: Mildly hazed dark yellow color. Two fingers of fizzy off-white head that falls quickly and leaves no lacing.
3.0 S: Blackberry dominates the nose. That doesn’t mean, however, that the blackberries are particularly strong. It’s simply a case of the base beer not being able to compete with the fruit. The coriander is there, but the orange peel is a bit hard to find. It doesn’t smell bad, but it’s hard to think of it as beer and not a fruit drink.
3.25 T: Taste is about the same as the nose. Blackberry is the leading flavor. Corriander. The orange peel shows up in the taste. Otherwise, just a blackberry wheat fruit drink.
4.0 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Silky smooth creaminess.
3.25 D: I’m tasty, but it’s not much of a beer.

WABeerFiend (426) - - JAN 16, 2015Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tumbler in late 2013.
A: Light orange color. Opaque. No head.
S: Loads of blackberries.
T: Sweet blackberries, wheat.
O: The blackberries were overwhelming in this one. They did not go well with the wheat. This wit wasn’t balanced very well.
slowrunner77 (19086) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 17, 2014"(tap) 8/08 the blackberries complement the (fairly nicely done on it’s own) wit beer base well. Not my favorite style, but this one had a nice look, nose and flavor. I am disappointed that it won the long shot competition, however. It was competing with a coffee stout last year, and while the stout was voted for at a rate of 7 or 8 to 1, that apparently was not the case elsewhere in the country as the wit will now go into production and the stout (I gave it an A) sadly will not. i’ll pick up the wit, though. bottle 3/09 - sampled after an Alesmith beer (a weaker one)...still a mistake. this one is not measuring up. still not real bad, but quite average. The blackberry saves it, because it has just a touch of whatever it is I dislike in the nose of the cranberry lambic."
gschrade (1446) - Collinsville, Illinois, USA - SEP 24, 2014I had this at Global Brew. Pours gold with a white head. Taste blackberry, wheat. I thought this was ok. I could drink this again.

Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance – Pours from bottle as a lightly hazed orange-amber color with a two finger white head. The head fades relatively quickly and leaves only a slight level of lacing.
Smell – The aroma is quite sweet of berries. It is a mix of blackberry and raspberry with hint of a wheat background.
Taste – The taste starts out with a smooth mildly blackberry sweet flavor with some bready wheat mixed within. As the taste advances it starts taking on more sweetness of berries, both raspberry and blackberry. While it gets sweeter from the start to the middle, the sweetness fades slightly as it advances to the end. Oddly the blackberry flavor seems to get stronger as the sweetness fades with it leaving a semi-sweet but not overly sweet blackberry and light wheat flavor on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is quite light in its creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the medium to higher side. Both are suiting for the berry flavors of the brew, making it more refreshing and easier drinking.
Overall – An alright berry flavored brew. Not overly sweet, yet maintaining a decent berry flavoring.
Mark_Eck (2000) - - JUL 25, 2014Pours a reddish yellow color. Aroma and taste are weak berries and very thin bodied.
generallee08 (784) - New York, USA - JUN 23, 2014The body has a nice slightly hazy appearance with some visible streams of carbonation and golden color. On top there is a thick and fluffy bright white head. It hangs out for a bit but soon starts to fade fast down to a small ring of lace. There is some slick lacing on the glass. There is a nice berry aroma as soon as you open the bottle. Light bready wheat notes are mixed in as well. The flavor has a light wheat base with light floral notes and mixed berry notes that have light sweetness. This gives way to some tart berry notes and a very slight acidity that dries out into the finish which is quick and clean. The body is light to medium with lively carbonation and texture.
berkshirejohn (8771) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - MAY 28, 201412oz bottle from Orchard Fresh, Orchard Park, NY. A hazy straw colour with a thin white head; berry aroma with some malt in the background; clean berry taste, but rather sweet. Drinkable but nothing more.
