UPDATED: JAN 1, 2022 Thank you richlikebeer! Pours an amber-brown color with an aroma of cherry, maple, and vanilla. A real sipper with strong alcohol notes. Cherry and dark fruit flavor with some vanilla and maple sweetness. Just exceptional. First time sampling Utopia-worth the wait.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2022 December 31, 2021 - bottle from Binny's, first time getting my own and was surprised to see a bottle cap after removing the top. Clear light brown pour with no head or lacing. Aroma was strong alcohol, vanilla, tart cherry and caramel. Taste was super sweet, strong on the booze and wood, and the tart cherry came through giving this more of a brandy feel than a beer. Great way to celebrate the new year!

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2021 Pour from a decanter at the Sam Adams Cincinnati Taproom. Pours a clear amber with no head, leaving some legs in the glass. Notes of bourbon, oak, honey, caramel, cherries, brown sugar, spices, dates, and maple. Medium-bodied, with no carbonation and a boozy, sweet, fruity mouthfeel. I’ve had Utopias a good amount and it’s never been this hot. Drinks like a lightly fruited bourbon. Still great but I like the regular version better.

UPDATED: NOV 9, 2021 Rating number 12,000. Bottle. Really cool design of course. Kinda stunned that it has a regular bottle cap under the cool lid. Huge nose wafts out immediately. Boozy sherry. Big legs going down the bottle. Tobacco, clear cherry, oxidized malts, big heat. Unusual of course. Very close to a liquor, but still to me, this tastes like a beer. No carb of course. Burnt caramel. The casks are all there, just loads of booze. The cherries really come through. I really like it. Late night sipper for sure. The slick palate really works, very similar to liquor.

Poured a tawny ruby red color, no head. Aroma was huge booze, vanilla, caramel, dark fruits. Flavor similar, huge big beer, prettyuch a brandy, not much cherry bit seems the burn is cut.
