COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bold and rich, with a touch of holiday spice. The first thing one notices about a Samuel Adams® Winter Lager is the deep ruby color. Then comes the magical aroma which promises something special on the tongue. The cinnamon, ginger, and hint of citrus from the orange peel blend with the roasty sweetness of the malts to deliver a warming, spicy flavor. On the palate Samuel Adams Winter Lager is rich and full bodied, robust and warming, a wonderful way to enjoy the cold evenings that come with the season.

ccex (1960) - Lansing, Illinois, USA - DEC 18, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 18, 2021 12 oz bottle pours a clear copper red with tiny off-white head that fades quickly with just a trace of lacing. Aroma is bready with toffee, roasted malts plus prunes, and light spices. Taste is eventually bitter with spices coming out most in the finish. Body is medium with lively carbonation. This is an OK holiday beer, but I would soon get tired of it if I had to drink it every day.

foyle (664) - North Carolina, USA - DEC 7, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 7, 2021 Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass. 1' cream colored head falls slowly, mild lacing. Color is deep amber. Aroma of roasted malt, a hint of spice, and a metallic note. Mouthfeel is medium with a mostly dry finish. Flavor is dominated by the malt with some burnt toast flavor, prunes, cinnamon, and mild hops. Overall: good for a seasonal, but not an every day beer.

chinhaez (155) - Ouray, Colorado, USA - NOV 14, 2021
UPDATED: NOV 14, 2021 Bottle. Nice reddish copper pour with a small white-beige head that soon fades away. The aroma is caramel malts, earth and twigs. The taste is more of the same, lots of smooth malts with a toffee/caramel signature. There is a bit of spice in the taste as well. The palate is even and crisp with soft carbonation. Finishes semi sweet with a trace of astringency. Overall: Decent-- a pleasant easy drinking beer

3.3
MaltOne (592) - Wisconsin, USA - JAN 25, 2021
UPDATED: JAN 25, 2021 Pours light copper. Slightly malty aroma. Compared to typical lager - slightly sweeter and a deeper roasted note from them malt. The special ingredient, orange and spices, are subtle and merge well. This works better than the SA Holiday White Ale.
